Diesel loco is actually a diesel electric locomotive. Since making gear clutch etc is an impossible thing for such heavy load and torque, diesel engine in turn runs a electric generator and they power electric traction motors.

The last numerical number is generally horse power in multiple of 1000 hp. For example wdm2 the hp is 2000 hp. Bike is 5 to 20 hp . The size of engine is not equal to hp. For example a leyland bus is having 135 to 160 hp. But a suv car is having around 150 hp Will a 2000 hp loco consume more diesel than 4000 hp loco

You may be true... if it take 6 to 6.5 liters of diesel for 1 kilometer.. we should also.consider how many people it is transporting.. in a bike to transport one person it will take 0.10 liter but here the train transports more than 1000 people... I that way it is still cheap

This video is incomplete. What is the power of loco? The old alco loco is 2000 hp.The modified one is 3000hp, wdm4 is around 4000 hp. Alco is 2 stroke and the rest are 4 stroke engine.

The mileage which you have mentioned for how many carriages/wagons.Assuming the engine attached/coupled with 21carriages/21wagons is there any specific KMPL is givenor will vary according to weight. Sorry I am not a master it is only for academic interest as normally mentioned for bikes, cars, trucks and speed and gear in which they are driven and load it carries

According to the Available information on internet.... Train coaches are not a major thing that change differences in mileage... The speed and it's stop counts make difference on the mileage... Even I am not a master in this but see the comment which I pinned yesterday that subscriber is a loco pilot he also says that speed and stops make the change on the mileage eventually... Please gather facts. Don't just quote from internet. Locos are having different horsepower, different pulling capacities. For example wdm2 with a single loco can pull 15bogies at aspeed of 100kmph.for25 bogies one needs 2 wdm2 locos to pull at a speed of 120kmph.
