In The Virtual End (Linkin Park HL2 music video)

This is a video I did for a contest machinima.com was hosting some time back
(EDIT: if I remember right, it was a tribute to Eli contest, which I did not even place in because it was rejected for copyright music, right at the start of KZbin really starting to crack down on copyright music). .. That made me make my own silly music, because I loved making "music videos" so much at the time. Lol.
The song is "In The End" by Linkin Park. I posted it here once and KZbin removed the audio. Hopefully, with their new system, it will allow the video and just give a link to the song on itunes instead of silencing it. I hope some of you haven't seen it yet.
I used Half-Life 2, Garry's Mod, and SDK Face Poser to make the video.

The source engine isn't really FOSS, and Source 2013 binaries haven't been updated for almost a decade. However, this video use Source SDK 2007 and Gmod. Source 2007 was actually pretty up-to-date for the time, and Source 2009 didn't have it's binaries publicly released

Civil Protection (A classic I recommend everyone watches again) did it, and it looks pretty smooth in some scenes. Honestly, some of my favorite gmod videos are from 2009-2012. Dasboschitt, Kitty0706, Rubberfruit, Raikujo. If you watched their more "recent content" as in, most of their channels ended around 2015 or earlier, you'd think they made content as recently as 2016 or even now. That's because a lot of SFM and GMod animators took notes from these great folks. Definitely check out Schwiggan. His animations were as clean as the one in the music video. Yes, he still makes videos to this day. Brings a tear to my eye.
