My only problem with the reboot is the lack of intelligence in these couple characters who clearly shouldn't be dumb enough to get killed like that. I feel like its poorly and hastily written. Like at no point in this scene was running even a slightly acceptable option. Less than 6 feet from 2 drawn pistols and trained officers, no one sober in good mental health is doing that. Ever. Not for anything less than murder charges.

That's making the assumption that these characters were in anything *LIKE* good mental health to start with. Even in the original series , many of the characters are not the brightest bulbs, so to speak.
