no, that was why she divorced him. She saw him for what he was, the Angriest man she ever met. Raylan shot his best friend. The man who saved his life multiple times. At the last episode, He almost killed boyd, or the second time he tried to Kill Boyd. The rage from the man, when Boyd dropped his gun, and forced Rayland to decide, if he was going to outright break the law to do what he wants. And to add, the first time He shot Boyd, I didn't think it was justified. Raylan knew Boyd was not going for the gun to shoot anyone.

I think a lot of people are missing some context behind the bad guy's actions here. He's actually killed several people in this way, its sort of become his signature. He does exactly as he did here with Raylan, he disarms them, has someone count down, and then puts the gun on the table in the middle of the count and explains the rules while the count is still going. He doesn't give them enough time to think about the situation, and he banks on his victims sense of hope driving them into his game, but the problem is.. its a rigged game. He has an ice pick, and he's fast with it, very fast. When they reach for the gun, he stabs them in the arm or hand, and then he takes the gun and shoots them anyway. There's no real reason for this other than its cruel and the guy is obviously kind of crazy. His character is all about two things, he loves tricking people and he loves hurting people, so there's no real reason he shouldn't believe Raylan wouldn't fall for his trap like a dozen victims before him. Of course, Raylan knows the guy's file, so he probably knows the MO of each of his crime scenes or at least enough background info to know the kind of guy this dude is, and that on top of already being incredibly observant, intelligent, and quick-handed, he easily cheats the cheat and comes out on top.

Raylan didn't bring the gun that was used. I thought this was going to be the scene where the Floridian that believed if your up close a certain distance a guy with a knife could take out a guy with a gun. IIRC, they guy challenges Raylan to a gun vs knife draw, Raylan accepts, the guy charges but trips on a hole in the ground falls and stabs himself through the neck with his own knife.

It is the Batman TV flaw. Penguin & Joker always had 'somewhere to be' before the sand ran out, tipping the scale and dropping Batman and Robin into the alligator pit. And of course B&R always got away with a second or two to spare. Ya don't give Raylan access to a gun. EVER. But, it is for dramatic effect so I get it. This is a unique scene.

I just thought it was cute that Fletcher thought he had a chance. Knowing full well Raylan had shot that Miami gun thug. "Fletch: Raylan killed a Miami gun thug who thought he could actually out-draw Raylan Givens. What did you really think the odds were of you walking out of there alive? Dumb ass." I never had any problem with all the people Raylan killed. What always boggled my mind was how often people just didn't care and thought they could go up against Raylan and win. Even when they'd stood there and watched him just out-draw somebody else. Oh. And the other favorite thing: Stupid shit criminals said going up against Raylan: "Don't listen to him. You don't need to pay any attention to anything he tells you." Etcetera. Those are just not the best pieces of advice anyone's ever given anyone else. And when he gives them the chance to use it or drop it on the ground? How often do the idiots believe they can shoot Raylan faster than he can shoot them? But that old stereotype of the stupid criminal had to come from somewhere. It just gets reinforced throughout the entire Justified series. Great show.

What was this guy's endgame? Kill a cop in front of his sweetheart? He could've done that the second Raylan walked through the door. Leaving aside the tactical blunder that got him outfoxed, I just don't get how he saw this playing out. Just to show off? To a dead guy? Mess with Winona's head? He's probably killing her too. Yeah, it's a callback to earlier, but it doesn't seem like some kind of serial killer compulsion. Way to wildly underestimate a trained gunfighter.
