A lovely touch is when the characters slam the door the room's colors go from beautiful to hellish right before they beat up Murfy.

It seems that the teensies, fairies, and the Glutes(Globox's species), are ONLY nice when Rayman(and other Raypeople) is around. When Rayman was missing, the characters showed that they can be evil too. ALL of them had enough of Murfy as well, and they take Rayman's abscence as an opportunity to beat the hell out of Murfy.

⁠@@starscotten Please grow up and face the facts; In Rayman Arena, EVERYONE IS TRYING TO KILL EACH OTHER. Just about EVERYONE has an evil side in this game. The limbless wonder is no exception. In the original intro for Rayman Arena (formally Rayman M), Rayman betrays Globox, gets disintegrated by Henchman 500, has his shoes stolen by Globox, then Globox is used as one of his bowling pins. That’s what Rayman Arena is about! Betraying your own friends just to win. One poster features Rayman holding a bomb with a mischievous expression on his face. There’s even a commercial that summarizes the game’s crude nature by just actions alone. (It had a constant leading other constants into a spiked pit) To correct your misinformation: Rayman didn’t break through the wall, he was smashed into it. That head was not a plushie, it was real, knowing every part of Rayman is detachable. Rayman’s abuse during the broadcast cutscenes is one of the subtle jokes here; Titular character being the butt monkey of they’re own game.

Second, Rayman's head maybe detachable but if it was his real head, his REAL eyes would have shown instead of a couple of X's(X's over the eyes can mean death, but also can mean unconscious in cartoons). Rayman is found frozen in Razorbeard's freezer. Tonic Trouble's Ed on the other hand, is truly dead, we see his skeleton before the pirate closes the door on Murfy. I know Rayman Arena is supposed to be cutthroat, and is supposed to have darker scenes in it, but so did Rayman 2 & 3.
