I can't help but love this scene. Reddington knows the weaknesses of everyone in the room; amusing the judge, angering the cop, disrespecting the lawyer, and even plays up a fake weakness of impatience for himself. He knows exactly what to say to get a reaction and uses the value of hindsight and experience to trip up the officer's testimony. And the most brilliant thing is that he's RIGHT. This cop couldn't have known it was a fake ID. He wouldn't have bothered Red if Red had said "how high?" when he said "jump." Getting the cop to forget where he was for that one second was just an added bonus that didn't HAVE to mean anything addressing a criminal, but Red MADE IT mean something.

Perfectly said
@STNeish Жыл бұрын
I would have been objecting to so much of this. In sum, he wasn't questioning, he was testifying... but he wasn't the one on the stand. He's telling the officer what they officer was thinking, and why he was doing what he was doing. None of that is evidence, it's all speculation. That the cop lost his temper on the stand didn't make anything Reddington said true, it remained speculation.
@RDMGAMER Жыл бұрын
@@STNeish thank god you ain’t a real lawyer huh cause what you said wouldn’t work that way. It’s not speculation it’s stating fact a Id of that quality could not be detected by the eye. Then the cop jumps on the defensive and he uses it to his advantage not making statements or what you think testifying is. He asks questions. Once he goes into speculation at the very end if you had objected and it was sustained by the judge all he would do is then turn it into a question. Is it true like we saw from this outburst that the real reason you frisked me was because I did not instantly prostrate myself before your ego? So therefore without proper suspicion of me committing a crime you illegally searched me out of a abuse of power. The cop already fucked up so odds the judge would of overturned the objection because it states motive and seeing he’s his own lawyer he gets to do exactly what he did.
@STNeish Жыл бұрын
@@RDMGAMER The problem is, whether it's speculation or not, it's not HIS place to testify to that point. The cop makes statements, but Reddington goes on to tell him why he "really" did things, or what he was "really" thinking... as if he would somehow know. It's all worded well, and designed to make Reddington look very cunning (and he is), but it would be largely inadmissable in a real court. The other lawyer should have been objecting to most of it.
@feanedhell Жыл бұрын
@@STNeish well the way it was done was incorrect for sure, he would have needed to call a rebuttal witness, which would be himself, it is understandable that they cut down on the procedure for this. The crux of the matter is the search was illegal but in the end the cop was still given the benefit of the doubt
