My son and I caught our first taug last Monday because of your great videos. We enjoyed it so much we went out for another successful trip on Friday. Nothing but shorts but a lot of fun. Keep the videos coming.

@@TriboroFishing You taught a nine year old to love jetty fishing. I'm not sure how great of a gift that is to a father. Thank you again. Tight Lines.

Very addictive fishing for Blackfish. When flipping rocks for bait to catching its awesome.

Jetty fishing for Tog is the most challenging type of fishing, compared to sheepshead southern jetty fishing

Awesome job getting on that first keeper tog of the season! I agree, they are super hard fighting fish, particularly for their size!

@@TriboroFishing WOW! Awesome video! I never tried going for Tautog before, but now I want to after watching your excellent video. If you don't mind some questions, why do you say it's frustrating? Is it because of the risk of getting snagged in the rocks? What month was this? Also, was this at a particular spot next to a particular private pier that belongs to a certain private club? 🤫

Nice catch!! I honestly learned so much from your videos. Why do you use a mono leader instead flouro? I’m going to test out this new rod & reed combo today. Hopefully henri brings the fish to shore. 😂
@TriboroFishing3 жыл бұрын
Appreciate you watching and glad I could help. I use mono just because it’s cheaper but I’ll use flouro for fluking because it’s thinner and better for finesse fishing. Normally fishing before a storm is good because fish will feed before a big storm and hunker down during the storm.

Do you ever use tog jigs? Like bottom sweeper jigs?
@TriboroFishing3 жыл бұрын
Yes I do. I normally use jigs when the water doesn’t have to much current or I’m vertical jigging like on a kayak or boat.

Where are you catching these togs
@michaeldesantis27773 жыл бұрын
You might want to try making the loop for your hook about an inch above the loop for your weight. I like to have my hook almost touching my weight so the hook can fall into the holes in the rocks. I’ve crushed blackfish at that spot up to 14lbs throughout the last decade and that’s my go to rig.
@TriboroFishing3 жыл бұрын
I’ll try that, thanks for the tip.

Cheaper and more fun than Six Flags, and not any more toxic than any food they sell there! That's my reasoning and I'm sticking to it! 😆
