There are some Sammarinese levels (San Marino) because I know them personally but MM2 doesn't support their country so they say Italy since theyre a microstate enclaved by Italy. For what it's worth I can see what the most played level is amongst theirs and submit it directly since it's labeled italy but it's San Marino

There are a few scuffed country accounts that might be legitimate, like the sole person from Ukraine that had like 100+ WRs and First Clears, but they are far and few in between. There was also someone from the UAE at one point in the data who seemed legit but then when I pulled the data later they weren't found again

@@mricci07 I don't think that relates to my comment. 2 of the 3 "scuffed" countries were Kazakhstan, part of the former Soviet Union, and Mongolia which was effectively a puppet state of the Soviet Union for a while, then a client state. It applied for Soviet membership several times, but the Soviet Union didn't want to make an enemy of Maoist China at the time. The joke was about the flags of actually playing countries being absent while former Soviet nations like Kazakhstan and Georgia have flags in the game that aren't seeing use. The reason Nintendo is unlikely to get market traction there is the difficulty entering markets in those areas, and I sincerely doubt Nintendo actually expected to need those flags. Most likely they threw in all the UN or Japanese recognized flags and a few random ones just didn't load.

Also I cant remember the source since I saw it from a few years ago but someone datamined a list of a total of 110 different country flags that exist in the game so there are potential for the other 45 countries (110-65) to exist but nobody has their account set up to be in that region or however it works

It's really sad that if you come from certain countries you can't play online if you don't play under a different flag. There are some players here in Iceland for instance but we have to play as people from other countries FeelsBatman. That's probably why this gets really scuffed in the end
