​@@Luigicat11 Before I start this comment properly, here's a partial alphabetical list of Greek letters: γ: gamma δ: delta λ: lambda π: pi ρ: rho σ, ς: sigma τ: tau ψ: psi Anyway, here we go. τ is an absolute top-tier choice. (That's the ratio of a circle's circumference to its radius, for those unaware. It's 2 times the more well-known π, the ratio of a circle's circumference to its diameter; however, τ works more nicely in many contexts, especially for radian angle measurements.) √2 is very high up there, too. As for the prime constant (ρ), I suppose it's an alright pick. The supersilver ratio (ς) is pretty solid; however, if we're going to use a number from that general region of mathematics, I would've gone with the supergolden ratio (ψ). Kinda funny how it wouldn't make much sense to use the silver ratio (δ_S, λ, or σ), since it'd just play exactly the same as √2 after the decimal point. However, I have one major complaint, which is that you left out an obvious top-tier choice: the Euler-Mascheroni constant (γ). That one shows up all over the place in math. If any of y'all don't know what that is, here's how you obtain it: 1. Pick a really large integer N. 2. Take the sum 1/1 + 1/2 + 1/3 + ... + 1/N. Let's call this sum S(N). 3. Take the natural logarithm of N, written as ln(N). That's the logarithm with base e, where e is Euler's number, about 2.718, as seen in this video series. Basically, ln(N) is the answer to the question, "e to what power gives me N?", meaning e^ln(N) = N. 4. Take the difference between S(N) and ln(N): S(N) - ln(N). 5. Take the limit of this difference as N approaches infinity. Basically, just keep plugging in larger and larger values of N, and see what values you get for S(N) - ln(N). Those values will approach a certain number as you keep going, and that number is the Euler-Mascheroni constant, γ. So yeah, γ for season 2. If I had to pick a constant from your current list to kick off... hmm, I'd say the prime constant. That's the number where, in its binary representation, every prime-numbered digit after the decimal point is a 1, and all other digits are 0. It's a pretty cool number, but it seems to be of no real use to mathematicians. I guess if we did some competition using binary digits rather than decimal, the prime constant would be a really cool pick; however, due to how the prime numbers thin out as you get to higher and higher numbers, this would unfortunately lead to a gradual decline in the rate at which 1's appear.

e did a 450° rotation, which is 5/4 turns. That's 5τ/4 radians. In the complex plane, if you want to rotate a complex number by θ radians counterclockwise around the origin, you multiply it by e^(iθ). So, a rotation by 5τ/4 radians can be achieved by multiplying a complex number by e^(i(5τ/4)). Now, e^(i(5τ/4)) is equal to i, so that's what you need to multiply by. Note that a 450° rotation and a 90° rotation have the same effect.

(I actually wrote a whole backstory for Pi, Phi, and e in the Mario Maker video and I think I got attached to Phi) EDIT: People have been asking for it so here's the backstory: Phi has always been bullied by his big sister, Pi. She never let him play on her consoles, and heck, she didn't even let him watch, but she was a big fan of Mario games. Phi has had no experience with them, though, and it's all thanks to Pi. When Pi heard about a Mario Maker competition, she leapt at the opportunity. Phi heard about this too, and wanted to prove that he didn't deserve to be left out all these years. e, the cousin of Pi and Phi, heard about the competition as well. e had always watched let's-plays of Mario games growing up, but he never actually got the chance to play, and the competition seemed to be the perfect chance to test his knowledge and see if that's really all you need to be good at Mario games Let me know if you like it, and feel free to modify this and/or make your own :)

e is the best irrational number even outside this contest, based on my seven completely arbitrary qualities for what makes an irrational number good. π - does not have an irrational square root in its principle convenient definition (points gained), can be handily approximated with a ratio and was done so for years with little ill effect depending on the number of digits used in the final result to the point there had to be proofs it wasn't just that ratio (points lost), has co-opted an entire branch of mathematics due to how convenient and ubiquitous it is (points gained), has weird nerds arguing over whether or not it's the best number to use for what it's used for (points lost), has broken out of the world of pure mathematics (points gained), has its own button on my calculators (points gained), is expressed by a greek letter so I needed to use Unicode shortcuts to enter it here (points lost). Final score: 0. φ - has an irrational square root in its principle convenient definition (points lost, that's cheating), the convenient definition is also the handy ratio that your calculator can easily churn out (points lost), only appears in geometry, symmetry and in the analysis of a few infinite series but has them each by the balls (points gained), does not have weird nerds arguing that a different constant that is just itself twice is more intuitive or not (points gained), probably exists in art and nature but not used often in engineering unless the designers demand it for aesthetic reasons, so has it actually left pure math if the functional math dweebs don't use it unprompted (points lost), doesn't have a button on my calculator (points lost), is expressed by a greek letter so I needed to change my keyboard to Greek to enter it here and then change it back to enter the rest of this (points lost). Final score: -3. e - main definitions are infinite series with no square roots in them (points gained), ratio approximations are just a few digits of e multiplied and then divided by successive powers of 10, meaning they are never easier than just writing out the number of digits needed (points gained), not only has co-opted logs and exponentials but also has branched out into other fields, including trig, muscling in on π's game (points gained), there is no e form of τ because everyone recognizes how good it is from the jump (points gained), was initially developed as an extrapolation about a financial question and is used all the time in every other discipline that involves mathematics (points gained), has its own button on my calculators, and many have a seperate button to enter an exponent of e because it's that ubiquitous (points gained), is expressed by a Latin script character so I can type it out without any things involving copy paste, Unicode shortcuts, keyboard settings or any other inconvenient foolishness (points gained). Final score: 7
