One of my all-time favorite Ray Stevens songs. I've seen numerous video clips of Ray singing the song from all time periods. I saw him in concert several times and it always brings in huge applause before and after he sings it. It's rare that a song is greeted with anticipatory applause and yet the times I'd seen him in concert, the moment he began speaking about an obscene phone caller, the roar of applause would ring out from the audience knowing the song was soon to be performed.
