Same. I made a crafter that can make 7180 dispensers per hour, which is roughly 2 dispensers per second. Edit: now it makes 9000/h or 2.5/s AKA hopper speed

If your item flow from a farm or storage goes via those barrels (or any container above the input hoppers) you can also read the barrel itself to ensure that enough items are present instead of subtracting from a comparator, which increases the size of the contraption and (along with the redstone line at the back) makes it no longer 3 wide tilable. You also need to be careful about the torch of the clock locking one of input hoppers half of the time, which reduces it's flowrate and means that the contraption can't run at full speed if that hopper is feeding in one of the most used ingredients. Another small downside of this system is that it can't reliably craft recipes with three ingredients that all occur multiple times, like a daylight sensor, since you can't hook up a side input of the center comparator to subtract from it's signal.

I completely agree that there are other simple ways to avoid draining on the middle hopper and the torch even comes in handy for unstackables as you've shown, making this the best and most versatile auto crafting setup I've seen so far. I just wanted to share my ideas about potentially making it more compact, faster and less depended on items coming from a specific side.

Not hard to adapt this so it also has an "output full" detector. change the torch not gate for a comparitor not gate (strong signal into side, instead of strong signal into back). This lets you also change out the solid block below the crafter for a barrel, which you can now read from a compariotor and feed into that same lock signal out the back (comparitor into solid block, over dust, to dust on same level, up to the dust used for the "no input lock". Not really much bigger given there is already need for a signal on the side, it really is just the two more dust on the bottom level. Can also then pull from the barrel via a hopper to feed into some other next step crafter, if need be. I've tested this in my test-world, works quite well

Interesting, I made my dispenser autocrafter by inputing a two tick signal with a repeater directly into the crafter, and using a dropper as bow input, so, that the pulse deactivates the hoppers and activates the dropper.

If you face the autocrafter downwards, and have it interactable from the bottom, you could then extend your design to all 4 sides. If you use use 2 input hoppers on the top instead of 1 like the sides, you could get a 5th input, but it will be wasteful, since you would need to fill up 2 whole hoppers instead of 1. If you use something with a lower signal strength like a composter (max strength of 8), you could reduce item wastes.

Great explanation. This is the one new block I’ve put off messing around with in the preview. My thought is to incorporate it into a skeleton spawner farm, filter out the bows, craft them into dispensers. So my question is will it craft the recipe with an enchanted bow? A used bow? Or do you still have to use the grindstone first and fully repair the bow? If anyone knows please help.

The dispenser/unstackable one is broken, if the crafter is full then it will fill the unstackable slot before the bows can get there, and it will get full when one of the items runs out in the barrels bc the other item is free to fill it up

This can effectively craft everything, since if you are autocrafting cakes you’d be building a dedicated farm contraption just for that, you are probably going to be purchasing suspicious stew from a farmer, you just straight up won’t use rabbit stew, special fireworks would be crafted manually anyway, you aren’t going to use enough crossbows to require an autocrafter for them, but pistons are kind of the exception to this, though if you are a major redstoner you’d have a special setup to craft massive amounts of pistons anyway.

I was going to delete this but it actually works fine. I get why you used the tnt design as 4 items is just enough that the clock is faster than it takes the hoppers to add into the crafter but of course with 3 items it works fine. So no need for a third subtracting comparator. Very smart design

I'm curious why no one is using filler items for more complicated recipes. Items in the recipe slots can be removed using hoppers, so in theory you could use items which are never used in a recipe as placeholders in slots which you don't want taken up by other items, then remove them with a hopper filter in order to craft the recipe. That way you wouldn't have to make any changes to the crafter itself, and would simply have to input the items in order.

the autocrafter you mentioned i added two more slots and made the top the output and put the fifth slot at the bottom that uses droppers to send items into the crafter and the maximun varety of items in a crafting recpie is 5 items so it can craft anything and is practical for survival and we dont need to build that monstrocity that you said can craft anything and made a version that begineers can make in early game & consume similar amount of materials to build as the autocrafter you mentioned in this video so that means i have the world record for the smallest autocrafter that can craft anything it also has a failsafe that stops the crafter from crafting when items run out in any slot for input it is of a similar size

Most of the time this is perfect, but with the non stackable (dispenser) factory, it often gets interrupted by the redstone or sometimes cobblestone going into the bow slot. I have the torches configured correctly and they're shutting off the hoppers when the crafter is powered... I'm wondering if lag is a factor? I'm on a server with pretty limited bandwidth.

So with crafters the comparator output is 1 per filled slot ending at 9, so what if each set of crafts above 1 increases output by 1? "Can craft" 2 = signal 10. "can craft" 7 = signal 15.

There aren't really mods for snapshots, so we will have to wait for the full release, but it almost certainly just loads in the same recipes that the normal crafting table does, so it should work with any modded items.

I'm a bedrock console user, and as much as i am a pro and not an expert at redstone, there's only one auto crafting recipe that i need, but one of the items are hard to get cause there's no way to farm it without glitching the item, for now at least, TNT, we can farm gun powder, but not sand like the recipe requires, so it's hard for the auto farms that requires TNT, if we can't farm sand, so until we can farm sand, the auto TNT crafting recipe is useless for the time being until minecraft 1.22-3-4-5-etc. But you all get the problem with that [|}|

I posted this comment in NICO is Lost's Comments talking about crafter tech, and I want your input on it. Here's the Comment: I may not have the technical know how of the Minecraft Redstone Community, but as soon as I saw the crafter added into the game, I thought of a general raw material sorting system, I.E. Bare minimum materials list to everything in Minecraft, that could be crafted into whatever we need. For instance, take your computers File Explorer. That's a system to allow you to search through your computers files. Quite similar to how we as players may utilize sorting systems. However, what if the analogy was literal? Take Wood for instance. We could make an entire system for all recipes that require wood and build it to specifications like we would when creating files within files in the File Explorer. Then we could take Stone and do the same thing. Iron, Gold, Diamond. The list goes on until we have every raw material in the game with it's own subdivisions of recipes. Now I am fully aware that there would be some serious spaghetti redstone once other materials are added to other recipes, but here's where things get interesting. Once you have everything you need, you could have a universal call button for each material in the system to be transported to a specialized crafter or better yet, build a separate crafting system that can be given programs to read from and produce the output automatically. How would we do this? Shulker Boxes. By utilizing Shulker Boxes and Crafters, we can essentially write our own programs for the Crafter to run and copy. For the sake of an example, say for instance we need a piston, a dispenser and a daylight detector. The first row of the Shulker would be the components for a piston from left to right top to bottom. Ex. Shulker to Crafter would be like this: 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 v 1 2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 It could be like that for all three rows of the shulker. One recipe per row. And there's your program on a thumbdrive/USB Stick. Once inserted into the machine, it could dump all needed resources for those recipes into their corresponding crafters/nearest crafter available and then when your done crafting, you could flick a switch to lock specific hoppers, thus preventing any extra materials from entering the crafter and allowing it to clear for the next program to be run. I would think this would be the endgame of the crafter tech tree, but there's likely lots more to discover about the block and it's Redstone intricacies.

In my view Mojang did a really terrible job implementing the Crafters into the game. There should be a simple button in the workbench interface where you can lock the recipe. This way you would only need one hopper on top of the Crafter to autocraft.

@@Hamuel There are ways of doing it, but I'm just not good enough with redstone to do it in a compact manner. The way to do it easily is to have 9 crafters in a row, of which they would be fed a specific item from your recipe, and every single time they receive one item, they will lock the hopper, once all of them have their hoppers locked, a hopper line below the 9 crafters would bring the items to the main crafter which would wait a set amount of ticks (which is somewhat easily calculated if you know redstone ticks), craft ONCE item, unlock the hoppers, rinse and repeat. So, you'd never lose any items or recipes. Because it sends a signal strength of one when there is one item in the crafter, that's how you can lock/unlock the hoppers feeding them.

I wish you could just have a set item in a slot just to make sure you don't lose the initial shape of the recipe. Super lazy on Mojang's part. Otherwise, this feature is one of the best things to come from minecraft for a while.

They could have made it like that, and it would probably be easier than implementing it the way they did, but the problem with that is that it's too overpowered. You can literally just hopper in all the required materials instead of having any complexity

Maybe having a more expensive auto crafter that allows for you to put a specific recipe in would be good but yeah I do get your point. @@okebedoke
