yeah that rocket motor crisis greatly affected my home town because the closure of Thiokol, but if RTX can scale to meet today's needs then that's awesome. Plus having production in Australia and Japan along with our US and Europe facilities then that is amazing.

Think you are downplaying Australia involvement in these. Australia provided the rocket motor and avionics and other parts in the Sea Sparrow , and helped design and built parts in the SM6 also. Is a lot of Australian tech in USA weapons systems . Raytheon Australia, Lockheed Martin Australia, Boeing Australia and might forget the other Australian subsidiaries all have R&D facilities for Australians to invent technology sold under the USA defence companies names netting them billions in revenue. hypersonics Australia played a huge part in USA hypersonics HIFIRE and SCIFIRE joint programmes developed HAWC and HACAM scramjet missiles. Australia has world fastest scramjet and thanks to Aussie Ray Staler first to get essence of flight from scramjets and hus special hypersonic wind tunnel designs.

We spent a lot more on defense in the 80's. It is much worse now but the amount is small. This is a mistake. Is Collins avionics used in the COMAC 919?

Throughout all of human history, the need for consumable munitions has always exceeded production capacity & affordabilitly. Since the introduction of bronze tipped arrows & bronze swords. Probably earlier flint/obsisidian arrow & spears. 😊
