Wow, not only did you give a great tutorial on the new silk plugin, you may have sold me on the clarity plugin. I'm recording in an untreated room (renting, so it's not my place) and I hate how I get natural reverb. I want to be the one adding the reverb as I see fit. THANK YOU!!!

Sounds great! That second pop track you can really tell how well it cleaned up by how the verb stops jumping in response to those peaks. Butter verb after! 😊💪🏼

Great plugin. Also have smooth operator but for vocals 9/10 times you are going to be targeting the frequencies that this does. Add it the mini RVox Compressor and it's good to go.

Nice gift from Waves. Works pretty well. For smoothers - against Vastus, it is better. Smooth Operator? Similar too. Silk really is a bit better than the others, but could be used combined with them. Regarding Clarity, I'd want to use the Pro version in a live setting as we use plugins for live events and you can definitely hear the room noise.

Watch the video. Basically works like Soothe2, Smooth Operator, Vastaus as what you just said - looks and finds the harsher resonances. But the three frequency range graphs even point out what is happening, like Soothe2. Definitely get it - it's nice.

Just purchased it…. Would this work with the LV1 live?.. I’ve just purchased the 16/ch software while awaiting the arrival of the ionic/16ch… I have a simple two piece vocal setup so only need to focus on live vocals

I started using Nectar 3 Elements on all vox, and I think this is going to take it up a notch. Nectar killed the vocals a bit, so I left my limited and saturated/excited duplicate track off, and added it back after Nectar did it's thing, but that's also added some resonance back too, so I think it's going to be just what I need! I had smooth operator in the cart ready for Black Friday (happened to be my payday), but then I got this for free!

Salut, J'ai obtenu ce plugin gratuitement, mais je ne l'ai quasiment pas utilisé...juste une fois pour mettre un filtre sur la voix, ça a bien fonctionné. Mais je trouve que le silk sait faire des voix "modernes" mais qui sonnent trop aigües et qui manquent de vie et de corps, pour mon goût personnel. Tu m'as donné envie de l'essayer encore, mais je ne suis pas sûr qu'il réponde à mes attentes.

I guess you could use it in both case scenario. As for me I would use it to clean up dry vocal 1st before processing it through other plugin effects to avoid amplifying other unwanted frequesncies. You can also touch it up after it's processed for a finer outcome.

I like anything that's free :), but not sure what this would realistically achieve over a multiband dynamic EQ.

It has MANY MANY more bands compared to any typical dynamic EQ. This makes it more surgical. Hope that helps!

Far better result and not as impactful as a Dyn EQ. As this type of thing will cut out many individual cuts dynamically at different frequency points. It's like a three-band hyper-dynamic eq, Since it's free - give it a try.

It isn’t helpful to demo this with a ‘vocal’ that doesn’t involve real singing or any real pitch choices. No more stale hip hop garbage, please. It isn’t helpful. Your approach is good otherwise. Thank you for the awareness of the plugin. I’ll check out some other videos with real singing and see if I end up replacing Soothe 2. I doubt it but let’s see!

It CAN de-ess but it also does a great job at cleaning up muddy vocals. It's a resonance suppressor which acts very differently than how typical de-essers work. It's more like Soothe and Reso if you've heard of those plugins....
