🤘 *BABYMETAL - TALES OF THE DESTINES* REACTION AND ANALYSIS IS NOW LIVE: kzbin.info/www/bejne/iGmziGV6rpyoppI 🤘

What makes the song great is that it is a true collab. Taking advantage of the talents of both groups. BMTH has the chance to work with a very skilled vocalist that sounds damn good whether it be with nothing going on, or a heavy background. They weren't going to just waste her on a basic chorus. The respect both bands have for each other is beneficial too. This is one that will eventually get played live, and likely more than once.
@RaytownProductions4 жыл бұрын
I completely agree. And when we have collaboration, new ideas/sounds/textures/melodies are born. This track is a perfect example. THanks so much for checking the video out and hope you learned something. Cheers!

'This is one that will eventually get played live', I hope so. It will be interesting to see how that works out.

@@wildething7923 can you imagine just the complete CONTRAST between the members of BMTH and Babymetal?!? it will certainly be a spectacle. I'll see you in the pit 😉
@randumo244 жыл бұрын
@@wildething7923 Well, they are friends that get together at the festivals they are both on. Not to mention, Babymetal invited them to open for them in Japan previously, despite not really needing anybody at all to sell out there. Which would normally be a pretty dumb move in their circumstances. When you can easily sell out, you just bring in a cheap local act that would basically be blessed to get the publicity. Bringing in an act that's popular in the west, while relatively obscure in Japan is not exactly cost-effective. Pretty much a "we're friends, so let's help you out" move.

Yes, the mix of Kean's bass & Nicholls' kick drum is always cleverly done (reminds me of BOH & Aoyama of Babymetal) but especially beautiful on this particular tune. Well, the 2 bands have great instrumentalists, especially the drummers; Mat Nicholls' musical IQ to show off such creative ideas in use of drum kit and Hideki Aoyama's mindblowing technique and beautiful tone control never cease to amaze me.

This mix is amazing. Lots to learn from 🙂

Thanks for this ! BMTH is great, but somehow I always end up over analyzing Babymetal with something like this, because how different they are. 8:45 this I think is sort of the power of Babymetal, contrasts. And their ability to incorporate the styles or even tropes of genres of music or sub-genres of metal or a band's specific style they want to give a nod to in their own music. Creating so much diversity in their music. From early on they made clear in their songs the core of Babymetal is just a small thing. The girls, young ladies now, singing over metal music. Everything else they do is wide open. No pidgin holing of Babymetal's sound when it comes to the instrumentals.

After checking out more Babymetal from all the comments, I've come to learn that they are the GOAT of genre smashing! I have a special video for you in 2 weeks that I think you will like 😉

@@RaytownProductions While their is an extreme amount of time spent on the music (months per song or on and off years), in Babymetal the music is kind of a device. Not the main thing. As you mentioned in your video: "giving those in the moshpit a moment to breath" in the song. Babymetal songs have a lot of the audience participation builtin. So the way I see it live performance is the main thing of Babymetal, the music is 'just the soundtrack'. With at the core the main singer, Suzuka/Su-metal.

Babymetal's GIMME CHOCOLATE viral explosion in KZbin always intrigued me. Maybe it's not just the visuals, the contrasts, or the uniqueness by itself. While the song sounds kinda punkish simple, I'm kinda sure there's something else... I think it is well established that the viral video has a different audio than the original live performance. Maybe that decision and the mixing of the audio greatly contribute to the video being so viral... Maybe you can help analyze to see whether the audio mixing in that viral video indeed plays an discreet part in it. Thanks! ^^

A lot of what you said went completely over my head... but it was super interesting. It was a little bit like a lecture at college you are really interested in even though you have absolutely no previous knowledge of the topic. Like a lot of people said before, would be super interesting to get an analysis like this for a (few) Babymetal song(s). I personally would be interested in an old/new kind of comparison of similar style tracks, if something like this could be appealing (for you). A song from the first album compared to one from the second and/or the third and latest one. Live or studio. But, like I said before, I don't have any knowledge of mixing and music writing, so I don't know if comparisons are even worth it. I think the community would be happy to help you out with suggestions of any kind regardless of what you want to do, if you want to do more Babymetal.

Thank you so much for the kind words. I know the college lecture analogy you made all too well haha!
