I must say - as the "price goes up" so does the amount of "in-fill" in the VU meters. The last one seldom had any "missing content" either in the front of house, or in the rearwards surround tracks (when heard from front of house). BUT.. All three had the same exact problem. THE BEATS.. as they were left hanging all on their own Down low may be fine for some !!! But NOT if there's a gap in the infill track (that which plays behind the leads on stage) that leaves one "beat" hanging on open air, for the HALF BEATS that never eventuate All those laid tracks are missing - is the 3D effects and the echoes of them, not just the front to rear echoes, but the others that one would normally get "thumping a drum" ! Such as an echo from Back to front, heard ONLY when it rises above the other frontal tones, that was made a few milli-seconds earlier - coming in from the rear of stage, or "out west" (so to speak) to one side or the other. These "pre-echoes" are what makes deep thuds and other "beats down low" arrive at about the same time - as when the frontal drums are kicked hard. On their own - frontal drum beats are shameful and rather empty To thus fail as they themselves echo towards the rear - or to one side or the other. Why? Because after the beat leaves the front, there is NO INFILL that came from the rear, or either side, to in-fill the loss of beat at the front Having a deep beat - that only emanates from the front (not where you'd normally find any "band" bass drum kit being played). Sends a one-way echo that drifts out the back of house - trying to find it's half-beat soul mate. IF - you actually had, a rearwards drummer (or at either side, a pair of drummers) who "kicked it hard" down low, a half beat BEFORE the drummer at the front kicked his - then you'd have in-fill flowing towards the front of stage & out into front-of-house, BEFORE the frontal drummer's beat - was lost. THAT - is the most important sound - LIVE SOUND, which cannot be replicated by a "frontal only" bass drummer sound, when we all; know - bass drummers don't usually sit in front of stage, nor - play the ONLY deep bass band tunes, on their own, as there's normally either an electronic keyboard with bass tones playing, or a 2nd (even a 3rd) bass drum-kit being played, elsewhere on a large concert stage.. To have a single BOOM sound - with nothing then another BOOM may hit a high note on the SPL meter, but it leaves human ears wondering - where the hell is the rest of the main-drummer's back-up crew?
