Razer Blade GTX 1060 - Can it VR?

I was worried with the small form factor of the Razer Blade 14" HD GTX 1060, that it would lead to low fps or dropped frames when using it for virtual reality; but it performed great! I wanted to show myself actually using the laptop hooked up to my HTC Vive for proof.
After using it for a few months as a video editor, the Blade laptop is a good replacement for my previous machine, a Macbook Pro Retina 15".

Yeah it definitely has to be full fan power but considering you'll have headphones on and probably be a bit far away from it in your room it's not too bad. Pretty amazing what they fit into the size of a laptop these days

This review has made me consider the Blade 14" as a replacement to my MBP 15" retina. Does it 4? Or relative to retina? I need pixel real estate for editing on the go

As far as pixel real estate, you may be disappointed, you definitely notice the reduction in screen size.... Using a 15" mbp feels huge now. However, it technically should be the same pixel real estate. Find a Razer Blade to try before you buy if you're worried about the pixels. I actually like the smaller form factor, but I could see others wanting the bigger screen.

+Hugh Adams that's tough. The 1080 will last you a lot longer and has power to do much more. It comes down to how much longer will you have to wait to save up? If its only 6 months or less; see if you can wait. Otherwise, go for the 1060, and start creating. What software do you want to make games in?

oculus will only install on you C drive, you cannot install it on your big storage D drive, and then only if there is 200GB of spare memory in addition to what your windows OS is occupying. Don't ask me why Oculus decided to program their installer to do this, it's a really shitty thing to have done to users. With this razer blade laptop you can get a model with a 512GB C drive, this is super important, otherwise the oculus program will not even allow you to install. also the GTX1060 is able to run VR. I am going to test this using thr Oc-Rift S next week. I cannot imagine why this should not run reasonably well (don't test me oculus [waves fist in the air]).

The 2016 model goes from 1800$ at the base model. The 2017 model is 1900$ at base. Both have low storage to start so if you can afford it I recommend getting the 512 gb version.

My laptop was 5800$ from origin omg 😲 it’s so quiet and perfect honestly it was so much fun portable and it came with a vr panel two gtx1080 graphics cards and I didn’t have to spend 100,000$ on a gaming setup just plop it down somewhere usually where there’s electricity cause why not and start playing one thing I do have to say about it that is bad is the major cost of the laptop for all the parts it was 5000$ not including tax but it worked like a god and I could take it to my friends house and start playing be
