Thank you! Just did this mod to my android Kishi v2 and it's working perfectly with my pixel 8 pro w/ peak design case.

Hey, thanks for this neat and clear tutorial. Every iPhone user does not like removing cases, especially the thick ones. Nice video. I'm using an iPhone XR. My case was too slim even with your mod. There was an empty space underneath the slots. What I did is I traced the original rubber spacers on a cheap rubberized mousepad. Then I cut it through the traced shaped. Now this perfectly fits the slot and the space adds grip for just the right tightness. The phone with the case in place is snug and fit. I'm using a xundd beatle case. Thanks again for sharing this mod. :)

Thanks! i used this same tutorial to make my Razer Kishi fit my Samsung S23+ , in a case. I had to also remove the rubber phone grips, but they came out quite easily without damage.

Great guide, followed it and managed to get the Kishi usable with a chonker Magsafe case on an iPhone 11 (one of the random billion ones that makes a non-magsafe iPhone with regular Qi charging magsafe compatible. Now I just gotta add some small bits of tape or something to get it properly snug (something that the rubber inserts didn't really do all that great with the iPhone 11 anyways) and it should be smooth sailing

That’s awesome! I’m glad the video helped you. For one of my Kishis I cut up the the stock rubber inserts to use just the flat parts and glued them into place to make a glove tight fight. It worked out perfectly!

Very cool. I hope in their next version, they would just make the connector a little longer.

Use hot blade to cut the plastic in the back thats blocking the camera

That’s a great idea! I used a Dremel on one of my Kishis in some spots to make space for a pretty thick dual layer case.
@richardp6744 Жыл бұрын
Yea im surprise how easy it was to cut it, like cutting butter, you just need the blade hot enough.

Amazing work for such a niche topic, you’re great at tutorials you should make more videos! EDIT: Without this video I would’ve had to take the case off of my iPhone to use my Kishi every time I wanted to use it, now I don’t have to so cheers!

Do you find the phone feeling a wobbly when you clicked it in? It r does your phone - with the specific case you have - fit snug?

Wouldn't the connector bend and break without that piece?

Great video. I had a quick question. There were 4 screws on that held the plastic peice in place. I noticed you only put the silver screws back on and not the 2 black screws. Is there a reason you did not put all four screws back on?
@kjgeee Жыл бұрын
When you remove the black plastic piece there’s a gap between the lighting port screw holes and the Kishi screw holes. If you screw the the other two screws in there’s a chance that you can close the gap and tilt the port in towards the Kishi. I haven’t tried it but I’m assuming that’s why.

I’m interested in hearing from anyone who’s done this… has anyone run into the issue of the integrated lightning connection getting ripped from the Kishi and stuck in the phone with the black piece removed?

Do you think is possible to make an upgrade on the android version from only charge type c to type c 2.0 at least? that way we might be able to connect an external display? like with an adaptor? MHL supported of course
@Raxxla_ Жыл бұрын
You’ve got me on that one. I really don’t know how the 2.0 port would react to the rest of the Kishi hardware. If you’ve got some soldering skills I’d love to see if you can get this working. In theory, with a 2.0 port it should output video just fine with an HDMI adapter.
