It should be noted that this is for the Razer Mamba Wireless model and not the Razer Mamba Elite model, which has a different takedown process. It should also be noted that, while I didn't state it in the video, you may consider adding one or multiple layers of tape depending on your tape thickness and particular mouse. I personally used two layers of electrical tape on each side and properly adjusted my screws and the issue is seemingly entirely resolved for now for my particular mouse. You may have to play around with layering your tape and adjusting your screws more or less due to tolerances being slightly different between products.

I tried a similar fix, and still didn't work all the time. Tried cutting a 50 cent plastic folder and super gluing it to it instead. Worked like a charm.
@Koko92553 Жыл бұрын
It is worth mentioning that sometimes you only need to tighten the screws a bit without needing to add tape as the screws can get loose overtime or if you drop your mouse. which was the case for me.

Thanks very much for that tip. It took me 2 minutes to tighten the screws and everything works perfect!

Same here. Tightening the screws fixed my issue as well! My man!

This worked for me too. Thank you so much. Really disappointing that a mouse I use for programming and barely any gaming wears out in under 2 years. Especially, with how expensive it is.

I've smacked and banged my mouse around so much thinking that would knock things back in place on the inside and fix it, but it turns out that this was my exact problem. Instantly fixed it. If you still check the comments on this video, thank you.

I had trouble snapping down the right mouse click side as well. Push down between the gap under the right mouse button using a wide enough flat head screw driver, it helps deliver the force in the right spot to get the right side to snap in, make sure you already snapped in the left side by pinching the middle area in front of the mouse wheel.

OMG!!! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! At first I thought it was software, then tested my rig with a wired mouse and realized ok, it is the mouses hardware. Then I found your video. This resolved my issue! Very grateful for this tutorial. Mahalo! 🤙🤙🤙🤙🤙

Dude most helpful advice i could've hoped for! For those who missed the screw holding the down part. - It is located right behind the lower slider to be exact 8 mm downwards from the lid. Dont be afraid to rip it off - it will stick again smoothly. Just warm up the glue with a hair dryer or lighter.

Just finished managing to get the thing shut- works like new! Thanks for this so much. FWIW, I noticed that the "switches" were what was making it tricky, at least it was so on my repair. So, I made them smaller and utilized the torx driver to make sure it stayed in position, was easy from there. Thanks again!

Thank you , extremely helpful 👍 I honestly appreciate the help, it was an expensive mouse and having to replace them becomes quite costly. That's an easy and effective fix for such a frustrating problem. Now I can get back to gaming without looking like a total scrub for constantly dying because my mouse didn't register the click. I dare say this video will start getting more traffic as everyone who bought one of these mice will be reaching this point where the plastic shoulders have degraded and Razer are not help since they are no longer under warranty.

I've heard people in comments say that even when they were under warranty, Razer still didn't know how to fix the the problem. Pretty unfortunate situation across the board.

Just did the same thing but used a drop of UV resin instead of electrical tape. Seems to be a common problem with the Mamba wireless.

hey. my razer mamba wireless right click requires a lot of force to click once because my brother threw it on the ground. what can i do to fix it, does it show it on the video
@faceless2302 Жыл бұрын
It could be that the upper shell separated a bit from the lower half which could prevent contact between the buttons and the internal switches; you could try viewing 5:30 to 7:05 in the video to get an idea of what I mean and how it might be fixed by realigning the shells together, but obviously I can't guarantee that this is the problem in the first place. If this is the case it's an easy fix with the right technique and amount of applied force. If you wanted to try to diagnose the problem from the start, you could always do a complete disassembly as shown from the start of the video and manually click the switch with your finger to confirm that it's not an issue with the switch itself, it will still register as a click to the computer if plugged in and the switch is functioning. If that works fine, inspect the parts to make sure there's no breakages in the plastic causing the issue, then reassemble the shells at the timestamps I posted above. If the switch itself isn't responding, then unfortunately there's a whole ordeal of taking it out and soldering in a new switch, which you can find youtube tutorials over.

Mine still had the problem, I've no clue what I did wrong.

It's not a perfect fix unfortunately, it can alleviate symptoms for a while in the mouse but you might always have some problems. I notice that they can come and go after the fix for basically no reason, so it's possible it could still level itself out after a couple weeks. I'd try playing with the screws underneath the mouse buttons a bit more before completely giving up on it, I've extended my mouse's lifespan about a year at this point by just by being patient with it.

I opened the mouse as suggested, put bit of a WD40 on the switches, which used to fix the issue on my old Lachesis mouse. Seem to help here as well, but for the love of god i could not put the mouse together. The left and right button simply would not click properly, screwed and unscrewed several times and only made it worse, as they would not click at all in the end. I got new Deathadder V2 instead with those optical switches, and if it develops this double click/drag issue anyway, it will be my last Razer.
@faceless23022 жыл бұрын
yeah the issue is definitely a pain, hope your new mouse is working better
@Timmaaaigh2 жыл бұрын
@@faceless2302 thanks. New mouse works just fine, but so did Mamba when it was new. Anyway, i have a friend who is kinda good at fixing stuff of this kind, so i gave it to him, and he managed it! Just brought it back to me. So far, so good, just the right rubber side went off, i need to glue it back. But the buttons click again and no double-clicking (though that much i managed to fix myself already, putting it back together in the working state was the problem). Now i have 2 working Razer mice, just put Deathadder back into box and save it for the future.

So glad I bought my mamba wireless used, but still wish I had known about this issue before buying it. I can say this is the only mouse I've ever owned that has this issue, but its enough to make me want to trash it. I guess I will either go back to using logitech next time or try someone else. This issue is enough for me to not buy razer again.
@christopheryoung52122 жыл бұрын
It probably is a razer issue. I have the wireless Mamba and the Death Adder and they're both having a click and drag problem.
@faceless23022 жыл бұрын
Yeah I have similar thoughts, this is a pretty enormous issue for a mouse to have.
@runninggargle Жыл бұрын
I've owned three Razer mouses and they all do this. Going to go ahead and fix them but this is the last time I'll be buying another Razer mouse. Seems to be an ongoing issue for people which is unacceptable.
@Dubmaster3 Жыл бұрын
@RunningGargle I will say that mamba was the only razer mouse I've owned that did this, but for the price of their mice being at the premium price points, it's unacceptable.
