Razer is one of the most popular computer and content creator peripheral & accessory companies out there. Everything from their Seiren microphones, Kiyo webcams, lights, keyboards, mice, and more have really helped them make a name for themselves amongst PC Gamers & console gamers alike. A while back they dipped into the Streamer Gear world by releasing the Stream Controller in partnership with Loupedeck. Now, still in partnership with Loupedeck, they are releasing a smaller 15-button only version to compete directly against the Elgato Stream Deck....called the Stream Controller X. Is it as good as the Stream Deck? Which is better? It looks solid if you are buying into an ecosystem. Like , you already have razer products. However, it doesn't seem to add any extra functionality that others do not have. I would be interested in 3 way functionality comparison between Stream Deck, Touch Portal, and this device.

I'm kinda surprised that this doesn't have some sort of feedback to pressing buttons. My Loupedeck Live vibrates when a button is pressed.

Hey dude thanks for stopping by! I agree. This, nor the SD MkII, just roll with the classic "mushy button" approach. I wonder if its a limitation of the screen-buttons, or a cost thing. Really was hoping to get some tactile feel in this one but alas no.

I was deciding whether to get the razer stream controller x and i got the controller X from razer. I have the razer stream controller x, good build quality, more tactile buttons and very sticky which it doesn’t move when you press it. It just needs more plugins etc like needs a discord plugin, zoom plugin and more plugins just like what elgato has.

It's sad to still see the entry price this high for stream devices like this. The cheapest option you could get is the Elgato stream deck mini for around 80$, but that's still a pretty high price for 6 buttons imo. It would've been nice to see some actual competition instead of a rebranded version of the now 6 year old stream deck for the same price. Missed opportunity for Razer.

I want to know what kind of control hooks Loupedeck has with the Razer Audio Mixer.

Good question! Quick Google search I found that there is a plugin in the Loupedeck marketplace called "VolumeControl" that lets you control any of the audio devices that the Audio Mixer creates. Also found plugins for the Key Light Chroma and a specific plugin to control the Audio Mixer. marketplace.loupedeck.com/?term=razer&type=plugin Hopefully that helps.

Can you control razer chroma with this? Does it show up as a razer device for macros to control rgb lights?

How do you make your microphone mute on discord with it? when I press the audio input button to mute it doesn't work

There is no discord specific plugin for this that I'm aware of, so either have it mute your mic at the system level or map a keypress combo or mouse button to a macro input in the loupedeck software to serve as a mic mute button

Why nobody can't even compare colors and display quality? Once I bought stream deck xl and immediately returned it because colors were washed out, dull and completely awful because elgato/corsair decided to use some cheapest lcd panel for their ~200 EUR toy.

The LCD quality doesn't really bother me. The colors are there, it can show text, and its visible. I am not so picky to be that critical of something that actually does check the boxes for me to go back and claim it should be better. Its an unfortunate attitude to be that way, I'd rather be happy that it does what its supposed to adequately. However, my suspicion is that there aren't many OEMs doing this kind of tech so they are sourcing from similar or same mfrs.
