Mentlegen To clarify this for you it's Trigger the Player Character from Ace Combat 7 flying the plane but Blaze the player character from Ace Combat 5 being the rear seat pilot possibly coming back from retirement after the Events of Ace Combat 5 to fly again for the Osean Air Force or Naval Air Arm. This is due to the fact that the F-14D is a two seater fighter jet and Nagase being Blaze's wingman back in Ace Combat 5 against Yuktobannia and Belka.

Trigger being actually Blaze, while of course it isn't canon, would still make for an interesting story, The main issue would be why he re-enlised again (presumably under a fake identity), since he did get more than his fair share of betrayals during the Circumpacific War. Maybe he just loves flying that much, or maybe he (or Harling himself, or any of the AC5 support cast for that matters) was suspecting something bad was going to happen soon. This, however, would explain why they chose the new hotshot for the initial infiltration to save Harling: someone aware of his true identity must've thought that there was no better choice than the man who already saved Harling once. Of course, Harling's death would hit him hard. Being framed for it, even harder. So why he keeps fighting as hard as he does? Nagase. He presumably does know about her space mission, and that it is going to be over soon. But, with the space elevator in Erusean hands and a full continental war waging over it, she would have nowhere to land. She had kept up her promise of never losing a flight lead again nine years earlier. Now it's up to Blaze to protect her in turn.

However, since Trigger was the closest and has just fired a missile himself a lot of people assumed him to have fired on Harling. While later the OADF did realize that it wasn't Trigger to have fired the missile, with the initial turmoil he was used as a convenient scapegoat.

@Rodrigo Catuna The engine for the game must be open sourced or at least have a good platform for modding, sadly this is not the case with the modified UE4 used in AC7 and even if it was possible it would take years to make, the game can't just be imported from one engine to another, it needs to be recreated completely which is already a feat that will take years, now, there could be a remaster in the works but of that am not sure. To see the demons of Razgriz fly once more and in this video with the soundtrack at the ending i literally coudlnt help but salute and cry a tear as the planes flew foward the camera. You did good, combining the music with the scene. A marvelous - splendid - spectacular job! I imagine that the devs hid the greatest surprise and easter egg in entire AC history : When Trigger sought out a place to land his broken plane, Scrap Queen navigate him to an abandoned carrier she saw earlier. Unknowingly, they landed on the abandoned carrier, and found out that it was Kestrel, the carrier that sunk years ago after launching the Razgriz squadron for it's final mission. Due to excessive air burst from Arsenal Bird's Helios missiles earlier, the area's topography changed, the sea level went down, and thus, the ship was surfaced. Scrap Queen then went to the hangar, and found out that a few of Razgriz's equipment and planes were still intact, and she wasted no time to fix and modify those planes. Then Trigger, sitting on Blaze's seat, take off to face Hugin and Munin. And for those who have finished AC5, they all have the same feelings about the scenes : "Razgriz have awaken from his long slumber...again. And even with his old and frail body, Razgriz fearlessly took off for his final flight and final fight to save the world for the last time".

Blaze who was a mechanic at the carrier watches trigger about to jump into the plane who ironically is painted like his old plane, emblem and all. Some osean guy:"Hey you remember what day it is, that space mission ends today, so that girl the former president assigned comes back, what was her name, Nagase?." Blaze eyes widens as he runs over to triggers plane and grabs trigger by the neck and throws him off the plane. Trigger stared at him like every other person on deck. Trigger:"....?" Blaze:"No." Blaze closes the canapony and takes off in the plane.

About the plot, i'm agree with you. Skies unknown is not bad, but the story could be better. About the planes, i'm not sure more is better. I'm more concerned about some mistakes made chosing the roster (for example: why installing medium rang missiles on a F104C? At this point, go for a F104S). About the maps, i think they are even, considering that the cloud mechanic of AC7 change how you must play in some map
