It doesn't seem that there's an insanely significant difference, at least for a beginner. I'd say it's slightly noticable that the bamboo has a better tone, but to a beginner is it worth the extra 800-1000$? Most likely no. The most important thing is the correct intonation and ability to go into higher octaves with not a lot of trouble, which I think the yuu accomplishes relatively well.

That is not the only difference. 06:10 Yuri mentions the curve of the blowing edge, notice how the custom bamboo one is closer to the mouth. If the curve is deep like on Yuu - it makes the sound more airy and makes it hard for your air stream to reach the edge. Otherwise it is really hard to buy a better bamboo flute than Yuu for same price.

I usually just press the flute more into my mouth to make the blowing edge closer, however I agree that my solution is not optimal for everyone, especially someone who is training to play for a longer period of time because then it can get uncomfortable.@@D.2023
