Fognini's level of relaxation immediately before contact is ridiculous. It is amazing how much racket head speed he achieves by relaxation immediately before contact.

El tenis no es solo talento, sino lo unes al físico, mentalidad y disciplina no llegas a lo mas alto. Fonigni solo tenia talento y eso le alcanzo para ganar lo que gano, que no fue malo, pero si poco para lo que podia llegar.

Glad to see the DROPSHOT seems to have made a post-FED comeback; very entertaining for fans and can be demoralizing to opponents add a few lops to piss them off even more....Alcaraz recently did the same to Tsitsipas !

I think this is a taste of his own medicine. I've always enjoyed watching Carlos but every time I see him, I think that his game is too brutal on his body. He's suffered another injury this weekend. He hasn't got Fed's natural gift of attacking tennis and has to earn every point. I will be surprised if he ever has an injury free season.

@@_headsheeran I'm one of those who said Nadal wouldn't last that long. He's certainly proven me wrong. Alcaraz's style of play is definitely hard on his body tho. I'm a huge fan and I think he's the real deal, but I think his greatest challenge will be to remain healthy. Didn't view it but by accounts he ended his match V Norrie on one leg.

Fun to see Alcaraz getting caught out by drops and whilst the first and third were decent they weren't on the level of Carlos’ own drops which actually makes it even worse for him. (the shots weren't as good but the prep and timing was good).

Alcaraz and many others including Federer, do and have done a lot of drop shots. It's legit, but not easy because it can make the player vulnerable. Fognini has identified a weakness in Alcaraz's game--and he exploited it. Nothing wrong with a little Machiavellianism in tennis.
