We, meaning the young boys of my church and myself recently went foraging for CRAYFISH (CRAWFISH), Crabs and Lobsters off of one of the islands of Puerto Rico. 🇵🇷 Crawfish is considered an invasive species. We bought some GUERNSEY BUTTER from a store named MARSHALLS along with some seafood spices. One of the kids bought along his fishing rod and we took turns fishing and we all caught Bass, Red Snapper and Porgies. We cooked everything right on the beach and everyone shouted HELL YEAH!

Hi, it's the local philistine here. I don't bother with a plate at the end of cooking, I just get stuck in as soon as the baking tray hits the table! Razors are great, even baked on the beach in a disposable barbie.

When I was a kid my aunt would take my mom, me, and her five children to Jones Beach on Long Island, NY to dig for steamers. I think that they are equivalent to your gaper clams. They were delicious to eat so they told me. They were not on my menu. lol! I have fond memories of those days. Nice razor clam catch! Be well!

I just cooked some razor clams a week ago. Bought at market so all the sand was already purged out of them. Cleaned and cut into bite-size pieces rolled them in some cornstarch fried them until about 70% done and then stir fried them into an Asian theme sweet and sour over rice.yummy

In the states Gaper clams are called Steamer clams. Most often served with drawn butter . They are smaller on the north east coast but really great tasting . On the west coast I had Geoduck which are gigantic ( up to a pound) they are served in sushi restaurants. It’s interesting how similar clams are world wide.

I use to cook Razor Clams in this way: stream with glass noodles, garlic soya sauce soak the glass noodles in warm water (not hot water) for 15--- 30 minutes until they gets soft. split Razor clams in the middle, keep both sides with shell. clear uneatable part away. sauce part: fried garlic, then turn off. mix it with 2 soup spoons light soya sauce ( go to Asia suppermarket get the one names"Pearl River" better),put a little bit white pepper and sugar. then, a little bit glass noodles on top of the razor clams, put the sauce on top of the glass noodles. then, steam for a few minutes. enjoy.

I’ve asked for this a few times, so happy you finally made this video. I’m surprised they didn’t react to the sauce... did you put them in the freezer the night before? When I was little we would salt them on a low tide. They sometimes drop part of the foot as self defence. We would eat that on the beach, raw, sashimi style and release the clam. I was about 8
