I got a 1800w kit off Amazon with motor, controller and throttle. I reused stock sprocket off the old motor. I also pulled the screws out and counter sunk the case so that the screws go in flush with a dremel and about 15 sanding wheels. Then put the bolts back in and chopped them flush with dremel cut off wheel. I am running 48v lithium batteries and reused stock charging port with a new charger from amazon. It has a lot torque off the line. I also swapped in mountain bike hydrallic brakes I had laying around. Next mod is rear shock. Thanks for all the info on the suspension upgrades.

You should have just took some steel bar stock and made a little adapter for the Mount. Then just use spacers and washers to flush it up to the adapter and install it to the factory mount. That way if you ever need to go back to the original you can. I know the chain alignment is a concern but the riser adapter would have shored up that slack in the chain too.

Wow thanks for this. Am doing a conversion of an old moped to electric. That moped probably weighs 150lbs max without me riding it. Was wondering if realistically I could use a similar conversion kit of the same power to get it to cruise around 25mph and go for about 30miles with a 48v 20ah lithium battery? Thank you. Would appreciate any help you could give.
@TimArmbruster4 жыл бұрын
I would say 48v 20ah probably good for 20 miles .. not sure about 30. My MX650 is 75 lb. I think the moped conversion could work, just not sure how much fab you will have to do.
@jhorrilleno4 жыл бұрын
@@TimArmbruster Thanks for the reply. Alright, i can start with 20 miles, I'm good with that. Already did the planning and math for the fab work, will probably make a compilation video, to help other's out when I'm done. Thing is though, at 75lbs, my moped is way heavier than your bike, but i will be running it on relatively flat terrain, maximum of 1.5% grade maybe. Im hoping it'll be enough. Just doing it as an around-town cruiser, and to showcase the technology here in my hometown. Thanks again for the help.

@TimArmbruster4 жыл бұрын
Doubtful that would work without cutting and welding. Here is a video of what I did to upgrade forks. kzbin.info/www/bejne/jGexeWl6eaaDrJI . My method can get a bit pricey, but produces a legitimate performing shock if you want to jump it or ride on a track. There are others who have purchased longer springs and bolts to modify the height, but it won't produce a shock that performs as well. It does raise the height, however, if that is what you are looking for.

@TimArmbruster4 жыл бұрын
Good Question. I need to do a speed test and I will get back to you. My gut instinct is that it is not a lot faster than 25mph, but you could change the sprockets to get it much faster. The setup with the kit is very torque-y, and I think a smaller back sprocket would work fine. I like to ride them on dirt tracks, so I've found I like the torque-y-ness vs. top speed.
