Hard to say what my real top speed was because there was so much elevation changes on our ride. Some uphills my bike was struggle bussing to even go 12 MPH (but SUPER steep climb), but then goes over 40 MPH bombing down hill. I have to do a separate top speed run on the same road I usually ride on by my neighborhood since it's got long flat sections. I wanna say you are about right with 35ish though.

Yeah the 48V controller is not designed to work with 36V.. it’s got an internal cut off not to power on the bike at around below 41V. You either need to add a 4th 12v battery to run in series to convert to 48v or just buy a lithium battery

Thanks for all of your videos and insight. I have a couple MX650s for my son and I. Thanks in advance for your help.
@PatOutdoors
@PatOutdoors Жыл бұрын
I really like the Kunray kits as a budget complete kit to start with l, but the controllers simply don’t put out as much as the Kelly controllers that come with the E&C kits so you’ll get power hungry eventually. It really depends what your goals are with the bike.
@internalbeats6870
@internalbeats6870 Жыл бұрын
@@PatOutdoors wow, thank you for your quick response. I totally agree with the power hunter. I want to do it once, so my plan is to go for a 72v kit right out of the gate. I just wondered if the quality of the Kunray will sustain a few rides each week of heavy neighborhood riding. Do you wish you would have just done E&C or are you satisfied with the Kunray / Amazon upgrades?
@PatOutdoors
@PatOutdoors Жыл бұрын
@@internalbeats6870 well I can confirm the original 48V Kunray motor has been holding up well over the last year or so, going through (3) different controllers in search for power. I kinda wish I would have gone with their 72v kit from the beginning, but I simply do all this to experience the differences between all stages just to educate myself. The Kelly controller upgrade I just did was simply an experiment to see if it would actually gain more torque and reach a top new speed with ONLY changing the controller and I can certainly confirm it’s a must have if you’re power hungry. But I’ve finally reached my goals and happy with where my bike is now..
