Almost all documented cases of btr fires happened with damaged batteries and/or after a crash. Still need to treat them with respect and caution. As we should all lithium batteries.

@@jasonjulian1 I mean I would say about 60% of the ones that I get sent on TikTok are from BMS failure when charging. I've tore open about 6 BTR batteries each one had a different $5 looking BMS inside. Had multiple chargers start on fire as well from them back in the day I normally would just chop them open and add new ANT BMS right away and have had no issues for years with them but still don't work correctly. 100% agree no matter what when you'd be careful with all lithium batteries any damage, puncture, or damage could result in a fire for sure 👌👍

Hell yeah bro! Crazy what just a lithium battery and some weight cut can do! Id grab a 48v lithium charger and snip the plug end off your sla charger and swap them out. Im not sure what kinda sla charger you have but usually they dont charge as high of a voltage as lithium. Your btr should be around 54v fully charged 🤘

All of these kits from these websites are kinda overpriced imo. battery will be the most expensive part on your build. A lot of people are getting those Amorge batteries from alibaba

I upgraded the motor and controller before I did this. I originally just added another lead acid battery to make it 48v and ran it like that for a while.... but the lead acid batteries were kinda wack... so I decided to bite the bullet and get the lithium battery which completely changed the bike and added to my top speed.

You should absolutely NOT be using those crimped connectors on the + and - main battery lines... It's basically like putting a straw in between two sections of garden hose and expecting the water to continue to flow normal... You are creating a bottleneck. Those crimped connectors aren't meant for high current. They will heat up and eventually burn up. You are also limiting your power.

That is the most unsafe battery you could use. They are known very well for failures and bad design so I would replace asap. Go ck out some people that took them apart showing how bad they are made. WATCH OUT!!!!!!!!!
