I have a couple of vintage Gillettes with lazy doors (great description!). Shouldn’t be a problem disassembling them, though. Forked screwdrivers? Jeweller’s pliers? Plumber’s reverse threading? Spider assembly? Yeah. I’m gonna get right on that. No sweat. While I’m at it, I’ll just tune the starboard nacelles containing the subspace field coils and have a look at the Bussard collectors mounted at the fore end. Thanks Matt! 😉

Thanks for the video! Is T-bar removal the same on a black beauty? I can't seem to find the "slot" where the modified screwdriver could go in. (Knob cap is already removed)

Matt you are the man ! I own a D4 1958 Fat Boy Dam near mint The Doors close very well thnk God lol But I did notice when doors are closed slightly under locking presser 1 side seams to be just a 1000k Gap opened more then the other side not a very big gap but just enough that i can see the 2 doors and 1 is opened a little more then the other while locked and loaded . is this normal ? or does it kneed a alignment tune up ? or it is such a small gap that it is not even worth my sweating over the gap opening ? Thnks Matt

I've seen every variation of the doors - close perfect, slightly left or right or both slightly open. Not made to today's tolerances.

Great video! Very enlightening! But how do you remove de T bar on a British Aristocrat? I have one with lazy door. Can I use the pliers without removing the bar from the razor? Thank you!

Do you have to loosen the bottom screw, and take off the t - bar, to adjust lazo doors? Will this fix doors tha do not line up equal when they are closed?

Very informative Matt I like the way you are so pedantic about the fine adjustment as I am OCD to LOL!!

Hi, I've recently bought British Gillette Rocket “Parat” that has lazy door issue. It doesn't affect the performance and the doors are even when the knob it's tightened but it's kinda annoying. Is there any way I can open that particular model razor and fix it on my own, because I can't find info about that model how it opens, or I shouldn't try on my own.

Matt, Can you fix a 1948 British aristocrat razor lazy door? #21
@Enigma2778 жыл бұрын
THAT's IT! That's what's wrong with my TTO! I now know what to call it - next, I need to know if you work on "Lazy door" as a separate service from the shop? I'll send it in! - - A $12.99 razor gets the ultimate tip top tune up at Razor Emporium!

Andrew Sicari our tune up service covers this and much more. Check it out www.razortuneup.com

Are all Gillette butterfly doors the same, or all the adjustable razors F-boy, Slim, and BB have the same doors? Like if one door was askew... and you didn’t want to send it out or fix it yourself ... could you take the crocked one off and replace it with another one? I’m asking Because one side of my black beauty’s alignment is ever so off centered... enough to where you feel it during the shave and also see it... to fix it is SO MINOR, to where you would laugh how easy it probably would be to fix... not worth paying full price in my eyes for a 30 second repair. And I don’t want to mess it up even more if I go around bending parts LOL ... I’ll send u a pic anyway lmk what u think

Every time I hear someone talk about turning a screw to the left or the right it drives me mad. How can you turn a circle left without also turning it right. It’s a circle. Say clockwise or counterclockwise.
