A professional gave me my first short haircut and another stylist maintained it for me for a few months. I soon taught myself to cut my own hair with scissors. I only used clippers to line up my nape. You can *easily* (and cheaply) learn to cut your hair yourself with practice.

That’s great and amazing for you. While true yes you could learn how to cut your hair, there’s no shame in her choosing to have someone else do it for her too. Nothing wrong with going to a professional. If you want to cut your own hair yourself then that’s cool, or if you’d prefer to have someone else cut your hair, then that’s cool too.

@ : Absolutely. It was merely a suggestion. Personally, it was always difficult to find someone who would give me the exact cut I wanted. Also, there’s nothing wrong with acquiring new skills. Cutting and coloring one’s own hair saves time and money. 💵

Girl, I feel you. I cut off all my hair in 2022 after having my second child from waist length to bald head. I felt so free for the first time in a long time, not worrying about my hair in any capacity. It grew pretty fast, but last year my goal for 2024 was to enjoy my hair so I was doing weave + leave out, box braids, wigs, and a bob cut. The shortcut looks great. Enjoy it!❤
