People don't realize that the Revo is the absolute best RC for a dual basher and racer platform. No one ever talks about how you can adjust literally everything a race truggy can adjust, plus way more: roll center, steering Ackerman, variable rate shock pistons, caster adjustments, camber, toe, extended wheelbase rear a arms, close and wide ratio 2 speed gearsets, SWAY BAR KITS!!! BUMP STEER!!! the biggest overlooked tuning options on the Revo are the roll center, bump steer and caster adjustments. I really gotta find the time to do a full video on a full race Revo setup. You young bucks prolly don't remember but there was a nitro Revo platinum. I've been running one since it came out aprx 15yrs ago and it will run right alongside a truggy on a track, thing is freakin unbelievable once dialed in. The out of the box setup on that platinum was very close so if you wanna improve your revos performance, google some platinum revo race setup sheets and get tuning! Oh and ya way off on the 200 to 300k center diff oil, the platinum had 500k outta the box and it had a tone of on power steering but only worked well on high grip surfaces and that was nitro powered so probably 1million is best for an E-Revo with all that brushless torque. Maybe even 5million or a mix of the two.but at 20million, you might as well run the spool setup. Nothing wrong with that if u want that slippy slidy basher style of driving.

The E-Revo 2.0 has a substantially larger center diff than the Platinum of days past; you can run a lighter oil and get a very similar effect. I've been dialing in my E-converted 3.3 lately and it's been a fun finding ways to get the thing to cope with the added power.

Ditch the wimpy traxxas bumpstops on the shock shafts for some off a 1/10 losi rock or baja rey, cut them in half, helps on hard hits alot. Also highly suggest hot racing shock ends and putting limiting straps in the rear, if you launch them they tend to pull the shafts out of the plastic rod ends.

For me, I swapped the rear brace when the stock one broke. If I’m running an rc, it’s gonna have some hard landings and do some backflips so I had to get some extra stiffness. Luckily my shocks stayed in tact through that breakage 🤣

What shock oil did you use in the rear? I’m sending it a lot higher though. Would you recommend 50 or 60 weight oil?

Gr8 info in your take on this RC… I’ve had mine for about 2yrs now and I had been away from the hobby for a couple of decades so let’s just say Imade. It through the “Learning Curve” with tuning the model and practicing my skill set ….at the end ?? A Gr8 RC…. As for the tires?? The stock tires just don’t handle well on 6s….they balloon like crazy….so I just added a set of Duratrax Six Pack MT belted tires and absolutely no tire distortion……. they’re a tad bigger than the stock tires but I’m running dual Savox servos so no steering issues …again thanks for what u bring to our hobby…….I just subbed you ☮️~~~~>> Out! 😎👍🏻💯

I found it handles a ton better once you vent the tires and cover the hole on the rim. Haven’t tried other tires but vs out of the box venting definitely helps

they dont make one for the revo 2.0, might fit but you loose the extended wheel base i believe.

@@HoffHorn the rpm true track kit absolutely fits the 2.0 i have two erevo 2.0 the emaxx 6s and two summit 6s and i have the true track kit on all of them. For the erevo 2.0 you just drill out the rpm inner hubs a couple mm to accept the erevo 2.0 larger inner bearing that's it then it bolts right on and you do not lose wheelbase. Just to confirm you have the progressive 3's only in the rear and the front have the 2's? Also when looking at the buying the 3's it says you need new spacers(TRA5133) and new pushrods (TRA5319X), is that true or can you just adjust the stock ones? Thanks for the great video

no need to buy the other spacers and pushrods, the stock ones will work just fine after you lengthen them slightly and mount them to the inner hole on the arms.

Would just like to follow up on this reply. I went ahead and made the following changes Put the rear springs in the front Got black springs for the rear and added 47.5 weight Added the progressive 3 shocks to the rear Squared up the front tires on the toe Wow what a difference, it handles through high speeds turns much better and seems more stable through high speed bumps and of course more resilience to chassis slapping. Appreciate the tips Razor, all the best.

Can anyone comment if this makes that much difference in handling? What is it like to have 200 or 300k center diff fluid in the E revo? Did the different springs and rocker arms in the rear make a big difference?

Thanks for addressing proper setup for the E-Revo 2.0. Revo/E-Revo tuning has just about become a lost art. When I raced my Revo (15 years or so ago) I mostly used variations of Steve Slayden's setups. As far as other youtube videos on the subject, UPGRADEDRC has a few good ones. Here's one of his: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y4KQiYSYfsalpbM

@@RazorRC Hey Razor. I'm going to convert a Maxx V2 (so WideMaxx + extended wheelbase) to 6S and I'm looking to change the center diff oil down from 20 million. Does the E-Revo 2.0 still wheelie with 200-300k center diff oil? Was hesitating between 500k or 1 mil oil for the Maxx. Thanks!

Progressive is wrong word . I linear is the correct term.
@thomashernandez4027
@thomashernandez4027 10 ай бұрын
No progressive is correct. It means firmer. I race mountain bikes so that’s why I know. Linear is softer. It’s mostly about the spring curve. In a progressive spring rate the curve is sharper, quickly increasing resistance throughout travel. Linear is the opposite gradual change stiffness throughout the travel.
@armenz.6601
@armenz.6601 10 ай бұрын
@thomashernandez4027 linear is feedback system . Compressing travel would give you stiffer . Progressive is linear.
