I go to flea markets, yard sales and 2nd hand stores and buy cheap cars like johnny lightning and other cars with rubber tires and cool rims. The vehicle can be ugly because i normally toss the vehicle and keep the wheels and tires. Sometimes i will keep other parts like rollbars, complete motors and anything else i may use for a future build. I am working on one car now and looking for the perfect interior. I use a Hot wheels 41 willys coupe ( 1st edition 2000 ) for a base. Use a dremal and carefully cut around the frame rail and side pipes. This Hot wheels 41 willys couple has a perfect base to use and can be found in cheap bins 10 cents and up. Car condition doesn't matter because i only use the base. I probably have 100 41 willys coupes just for the base. One car i'm working on is 7 different vehicles so far. It will be very cool when done. I chop and shorten Hot wheels vehicles too. Lots of hours into my builds. I used to do plastic models but ran out of space. Hot wheels are way smaller but well worth it once you get the hang of it. I have sold some customs for as much as $500.00 usd.
@themodelcarproject4 жыл бұрын
Wow, that's very impressive. Also 500$ for a custom build. I guess you added a huge amount of details to it. Do you have like an instagram account where you post pictures of your custom builds?
@wolfmanjohn28234 жыл бұрын
@@themodelcarproject nope no insagram :( i just finished a 70's elcamino. I made it like the guy who bought it, llike his real car, i even used his touch up paint and same color of primer. I painted the inside as close as i could. I used the hot wheels elcamino that 1st came in white with the big motor and wing in the back. I took that stuff out and put hot glue gun in the back and used real black leather for the back cover, like his car. I have some black scraps of window tint i put on the back window of the hot wheel as well. Real rubber tires with good year and matched the rims as close as i could. When finished i placed it on the base of the early 2000's 100% black plastic base with the clear lid. He will put it on his dash when he goes to car shows and advertise for me. Like i'm not busy enough lol. Finding all the parts and carefully doing it as close to his as possible took about 3 months off and on. Because of my PTSD my hands shake really bad so i can only work on one at a time when no shaky hands. I will see if my camera is clear enough to post some completed builds on KZbin.

@themodelcarproject4 жыл бұрын
@simpleking1004 жыл бұрын
