For a second there i was thinking wtf... got me
@linchester84645 жыл бұрын
So to my understanding. So the billet block is a 2.6L but fitting the stroker kit makes it a 2.8L. It def impressive to see a 950 whp full carbon fibre body R32 tearing the track. The main advantage of the billet block to to almost remove the chances of the block cracking when subjected to high boost and engine knocking induced damages. Thou i would love to see some teams run the stock cast iron blocks like the RB26, RD28 and RB30. With good machining, ultra sonic testing and offset boring and a strong engine bracing. The stock block will take a huge amount of punishment before it starts developing issues down the line. If money is no object. I would love to create my own World time attack R34 GTR with the pros from Platinum Racing and Halltech for the engine and ECU controls.

Keep in mind the factory castings weight in time attack is a drawback regardless of power
@linchester84645 жыл бұрын
@@SkatersOfTheNorth depending on the class. Street class only allow 5% weight reduction. For open class, only upto 15%. Pro class will allow up to 20%. Seen many open class still retain the stock block but use carbon body panels for weight reduction.

Do track limits not matter at WTAC? (genuine question)
@MadIIMike5 жыл бұрын
I would assume they have some rules in place like "two wheels on track" but it might only matter in some corners where it's deemed to be a advantage... also it's possible the shots where it ran wide were from a out lap (you sometimes take a wider line to gather more speed during the warm up lap) I don't run WTAC, tough so take it with a grain of salt.
