It's interesting how Anthony has resonated with some of the masses. I find it fascinating that he, like almost all new successful music, makes songs with no dynamics. Everything I've heard by him so far had no changes. Every song is like one long verse. This is the technique used in hip hop, and most new songs. I do like his sound, lyrics and voice. I just think it's weird how art movements shift.

Rich Men North of Richmond brought me here, but quite honestly this man's ENTIRE set was so sweet, soulful and just really, really good. These songs brought me back to a simpler time, reminiscing on those innocent younger but more complicated, angst-ridden days, while at the same time being such a contemporary statement on losing America. It almost makes me feel the way I felt the first time I heard James Taylor, Carole King or Neil Young, maybe even with a touch of the Eagles. I am blown away.

Redding California (Shasta county, the real Northern California). It’s a more rural hard working blue collar town, and not a place most Americans would think was in California. A lot of people around here call this part of California the State of Jefferson. There hasn’t been a person I have met, ran into or had a conversation with who hasn’t mentioned the impact Oliver Anthony’s music has had on them. You can not reach Heaven or Heavenly Jerusalem without cross. So, it is good to see people like Bible verses, and song about the Truth, but it is wrong to conclude path to Heaven is easy one, or it is like train in which we have to just come in without any pain and suffering. This is how we live here in Southern Virginia. A sweet, simple life loving God and struggling in today's world. May not be for everyone but we sure love our country life. Can't imagine living where you can't look up and see the stars at night or go fishing any time you want. Çity folks should try it sometime. He has a LOT better voice than he thinks he does. He's a baritone that has good control. He's not doing a lot of super complex things vocally, but the things he does are impressive. It just sounds natural and not forced and his personality comes through for how he felt when he wrote them. Some funny. Some heart-wrenching. Some just something that bring out nostalgia. He is able to elicit this in a lot of people out there. I hear people talk about contradictions in Rich Men North of Richmond, but those people are guilty of grouping Oliver Anthony and those like him into the same group as the people that are on welfare taking advantage of the system. They're not. And if they can step back to really think about what he's saying, they'd see that. Most won't. They want to believe what they want to believe, and that's their own weakness. It's not Chris's problem.

I keep telling folks that if you read one verse out of the Bible an not read the before an after verses an the referenced scripture you can easily take it out of context. I don't think he is talking bad about no one cause all the verses in referenced to the last verse an that is the damn country keeps on beating them down. I see no problem with people who use welfare as a handup but there are blk ppl in the subsidized housing who's entire lineage been there for 50 and 60s years and their children get their own apartment there too , I believe in welfare but I do not believe we as a country need it to be a handout and remove people's drive of accounting and self ability to care for ourselves with an exception to some mentality unable to maintain a life . We spend billions a year in subsidized housing alone !

I myself right now is sitting besides My brother who is on his death bed. He's got the turbo CA. Diagnosed in 2021 on his death bed in 2023. He still lives in NY and we All know what happened there. Amazing thing is that they have only known each other a month. The lead got a little ragged on RMNOR, but that just shows that they are still getting their groove down. As they continue to get time to practice together (I have to assume the accompanist has a day job) they will blend even better. Especially, there are times when the supporting guitar can be a bit more mournful on certain numbers rather than so bright (and the guitarist has it in him - some of his breaks just tug at your heart). All in all, though, glad they found each other. You can tell they have great personal chemistry on that stage.
