Hey man, so you actually run an update before the full installation? I am just about to download and install but it sounded weird to first update instead of full installation.

Hey, yes, I first chose the update because I already had this game installed. Fast forward a couple of minutes if you are installing this game for the first time. The difference in further actions is not really big. I didn’t think that this moment would cause confusion when I made this guide.

@@imagineracer Ok, I went for full install and it had the latest stages also so all good. I must say it feels really cool with a wheel but it's definitely not an EA WRC killer. I still think that game is extremely fun and difficult in it's own way, only thing missing is a stronger damage model and mod support. They should add a realism mode there as well. It's two different flavours of games and I'm glad both exist, they don't need to be identical in my opinion. I do feel the sound is a bit more raw and correct on some cars in RBR compared to EA, especially some outboard sounds are real thin in EA WRC which is unnecessary since I can clearly hear that they can do great sound in other views and cars. Like you can hear there is more to give but it's like they put a filter on the sounds to make it feel more like a game. Not sure why they do this. Thanks for the video very helpful, now I have 2 amazing rally games.

Yes, the full installation installs the latest version by default. I needed to talk it all out. RBR gives an indescribable feeling. And many rally fans consider the car physics in this game to be the most realistic. And I generally agree with this. If your goal is to get the most realistic driving experience, then this is the perfect game for you. EA WRC is also good, but compared to RBR it feels much more arcade-like. I'd recommend you try Dirt Rally 2.0 as well. In terms of complexity and sensations it's something between RBR and EA WRC. In my opinion, this simcade has a slight bias towards the simulator. In addition, DR2.0 has a very good chase camera.

@@imagineracer I did the full installation, thank you for the video it was helpful. The full installation had it all except some stages I see in some youtube videos as "best in the game". I don't have some of them so I need to maybe run the update and see if there are any missing.

You're welcome, I'm glad it was useful! It’s strange, if you chose a full installation, then all the stages should be there. You can write which stages you are interested in and I can check if I have them.

it doesn’t let me start the game once i’ve downloaded the launcher and the only warning i can find says “gauger plugin is not installed”

Try to install gauger plugin. Try reinstalling again. Don't know what the problem could be.
