Good timing for me with your unboxing the SCX10 4x4. I had one delivered last week. This is my first Axial and I really love this RC. Between my son and I we have 9 ( 1/10 ) and 3 ( 1/16 ) total 12 Traxxas RC's but, very excited to have my first crawler. I would like to thank you Medic & your crew that is Jem, your baby boy, Krazy Joe and his Rude Boy's and all those other RC addicts up there in the North that help in your RC adventures. I've played with my SCX10 and Wraith countless times in the snow with no ill-effects. Some of the bolt/screw heads pickup a bit of surface rust. Also I have all the bearings coated with marine grease, just to be safe. They're a blast in the snow!

😂 I remember getting the honcho and being so hype about the new axial ! Haha 😂 this video makes me feel old now we have all sorts of trail ready to run trucks the options are endless now. I think the trail/rock crawling has taken on a big portion of the hobby lately every brand rc has a trail truck now it’s absolutely marvellous.

I just bought a used honcho just like this. Nice to see what it looked like brand new. It was silver but no stickers and completely scratched up. Cleaned it, repainted it metallic royal blue. New battery installed. Runs well but does not compare to my trx4 defender. It will be a good platform for some new upgrades and parts.

The RTR Dingo was my 2nd RC. The radio has a crystal in it. I used the spare parts to convert it to the 4 link. Also moved the battery mount to the back. I always thought the body was the major difference, boy am I mistaken. And I missed out on the stickers?! Dang it!

I'm sure others may have commented - the Spur gear cover has a small plate in the centre you can remove to adjust the tension on the slipper, good thinking Axial.

just got the trail honcho rtr today along with some proline black 2.2 beadloc's (intended for the rear of the slash) along with some interco tsl swampers mounted up without the foam sofar ran a 3300mah 6cell nimh and absolutely love the truck. was debating between this, the wraith, the dingo, or a stampede 4x4 vxl. money very well spent. some mods and body trimming (due to larger tires) allready planned. thankyou for the excellent videos

I brushed off my axial scx10 honcho 2013 mint condition shelf queen and had a ride😊 I forgot how cool this crawler is even after all this time it is still the same price 😊 I paid £267=$325 in 2013, it just goes to show that you always have to pay for quality 😏🤔 thanks Medic bro

I definitely go with the kit, love to build them and the links in the kits are usually aluminum compared to the way too flexible links on the RTR.

hey medic i bought my scx10 honcho in 2015 after watching your video and have had it for 2 and a bit years have my rcsparks decals on the back so can be seen but do not get damaged. anyway i was out 3 weeks ago at a creek after buying new shocks i had it under water up to top of battery for ten mins straight running up the creek no waterproofing done truck still fine it is very interesting but is was awesome fun trailing up a creek.

16:35 RC Sparks, I bought an axial ax10 that had that play in the Y axle, I thought it was a missing part and just put washers there to get rid of the play. The play made it look like with enough bashing, it could just crack off the axle. Was there any advantage to having a loose Y link?

Medic bor, what an AWESOME review and a HUGE congrats on the stickers. The new Axial shafts are pretty darn tough. I've tested with with a 5500 2S 50C and they held up like a champ, even though I did replace with MIP's. Looks like alot of better things on the truck as well as a few compromises, but pros vs cons its still a landslide victory. The only addidtion they should have done is designed the axles like that of the Wraith's with easy diff access, and the offset pumpkin. Cant wait to see it

@TheToughtimes lipo waterproofing is a must, either have to buy one or the unrecomended plasti dip bout an inch up the wires. Ive dun it but would doit at the risk of replacing it

The honcho is a complete RTR truck, all electronics (but no battery). The dingo is a kit of parts that you put together. The dingo comes with no electronics, but everything else. For the honcho you only need a battery to run it. For the dingo you need to buy a motor, esc, servo, receiver, and battery.

Well, I bought my Honcho (previous release) and then, after some web research noticed that it is better to have 4-link for several reasons. Start thinking about how to make a 4-link, the first place where I looked for material, was plastic bag with spare parts. What was my surprise when I noticed there are parts ready made for it ;-).

I love rc sparks thinking of coming to Calgary one time with my truck and maybe live there or something I have had my honcho for nearly a year not water proofed it yet until the warranty is finished and the only thing that has broken is one steering knuckle as I went over a cliff at the beach and it was about 20 feet high so not that bad now upgrading to aluminium ones But if am honest I would recommend all of Axials products.
