Maybe I just don't understand correctly, but you said that both laying the front shock down or standing it up right causes steering to increase. Did you misspeak or what am I missing?

He misspoke for sure the more you stand yoir front shock up with increase dampening and decrease steering

Noob here. I was a little hesitant getting into RC. I bought a $200 Traxxas and I was worried I should of spent more money until I let her rip and I'm not disappointed. Only in battery charge life. I've already started ordering suspension upgrades before more power and these videos are helping figure this all out. Thank you!

Thx i use now a more standing Position at my FTX Hooligan onroad handeling is better and more space from chassis to the ground. I think i need some Carbon shocktowers the plastic ones are bending to the Middle under Stress which made my changes inefficent.

Moving the lower shock inward would reduce the damping and effective spring rate not increase it, the effect of the shock angle would be less than the reduced moment arm length

General Effects More Inclined / More Laid Down - Softer feel on both the spring and the damper - Smoother overall and more lateral grip (side bite), the car is more progressive and not so direct. - Easier to driver and feels as though the car has more grip - Less initial traction but will generate more traction mid to exit of corner - Less chance of grip roll - Generally suited to tracks with higher grip as it will make the car more consistent and faster corner speed - Improves mid corner steerin

It's a different effect - as you'll be placing the shock at different places on the trailing arm

My shocks kept going stiff when taking it off road. Car was bouncing all over and loosing traction almost completely. I’ve stood my shocks up as diagonally as possible now and The buggy seems a lot better and the position of the shocks has increased the quality of the suspension 🤷🏻‍♂️

Omg. This is backwards. You don’t increase traction by using the outside holes. It’s the opposite. Wow.

Laying the shocks down increases traction as you soften the vertical compliance. Standing them up gives a higher ride height (this is especially helpful in snow) and also helps dampen jumping hits better.

@@alanlo-557 well this comment was 3 years ago and apparently he has since fixed the video / audio. Now the video is saying what I said 3 years ago. The inside holes increase traction, the outside holes decrease traction. Ride height is adjusted by the shock length, not by the mounting holes.
