I have been rebuilding an rc catamaran boat my dad and I built in 1988. Gutted it, glassed it, and hopeful it will be getting test ran in the next month or so. It's going to be over-powered, and it's only 28" so I was going to add tabs to help tune it and keep it on the water better. Your videos have been so helpful with everything from learning new electronics, boat setups, and motors. Excellent content! Thanks Big B!

I pick up a blackjack 42 two years ago and I am just putting it in the water. I am actually having fun with the thing

Your videos don't need to go a particular direction every time. When Big "B" has fun, we have fun! As I watch this video, I'm finishing up a build on a 800mm all wood catamaran boat I bought from a China vendor on eBay. It's unbranded and the instructions are terrible but I managed to complete the hull with a lot of trial and error. The boat is awesome, but it ended up with warped sponsons. I've sanded the sponsons down and got rid of most of the warp, but I don't have anymore material to sand without risking weakening the hull. I think I'm going to need to make new ride pads and then blueprint the hull. I'm going to have to search through your library for a video on blueprinting sponsons. I love working on a boat project while watching KZbin - of course your channel is always first on the list. Peace brother!

I really don't have any proper blueprinting tutorials, the only hull I did for youtube is the blackjack 42 & at the time it was an experimental process. Unfortunately i didn't record the blackjack 24 blueprinting process 😕 wish I could be more help brother

I just bought a used blackjack with those same tabs and looks like it does the job. Nice and even hull. Have it on my m41 and runs like a dream just run them parallel with the hull and it will run really smooth. Plan on doing this on the blackjack.

I installed the RCBB tabs on my 42 and got 73 with the tabs. I mounted them a bit above the sponson with a very slight angle down. I relocated to a different place on the lake due to the BIOTCH swearing at me the first time I ran the boat. It's not sheltered much and I'm fighting wind, ski boats and fishermen due to the season. This fall when things cool down I'll be better able to put down some good runs. I have only rescued the boat once since putting the tabs on. Still fast but way more planted. Love them.

This was great to see, wife has a black jack 42 I'll be doing this to. Bought a self righting pursuit with the integrated drive. Has a 3674 and 180 amp seaking but no trim tabs, skips and bounces all over the place. I'm about to put trim tabs on it today from rc boat blitz. We have the normal pursuit and that boat is perfect. Thanks for showing us this .

Great to see the BJ42 running again! As you say just depends what you want to do. Yes, takes the unpredictability out of the equation. Was more thinking for speed runs, so would love to see what you can pull out it. Just need a good long body of water now. Any luck with getting permission on the new spot you found?

The trim tabs work amazing thanks again. I asked the owner of the big pond I use to do my speed runs in if I could run my boats there i even offered him payment monthly, he stocks the pond with fish and didn't want ANY boats on the water. Grrrr. He owns the only 3 Large pond/lakes near me, so I have to run the big boats in the river, the river gets rough with any wind. I will try a legit speed run this week Weather permitting

@@IRONCLADRC yes me and my neighbor gps out 42’s, with 1917 they both run 69 mph. And just to let you know, I just tried a 44 mm 3 blade 1.4 pitch, and it’s the best prop I’ve ran yet. 64 mph and literally glued to water.

Have you ever rolled off plane with this boat? I never drive my Veles anymore because the damn thing rolls over nearly every time I turn
@IRONCLADRC2 жыл бұрын
No this boat holds down in a turn. Lower the CG and it will turn better
@Dokroc782 жыл бұрын
My Veles rolls in the turns also. I think it's due to the squared off sponsons on the tranom. Proboat claims it was designed for SAW runs not cornering. I've found that's its better to stay on the throttle in the turns, if you back off as you start a turn it will flip. Also a higher torque servo is a must on this model. Hope this helps.
