3hrs to build, 3 days to paint. Excellent kit and really fun to drive. I recommend a sport tuned motor you really don't want to put to much power in one of these.

I love that old Tamiya RC commercial. My local Tamiya shop back in the 90s had a video tape full of these and I had my own copy from them. I really loved watching those videos and loved the voice of the narrator.

First RC car I ever owned/built way back in the 80's, beat it to death pretty quickly, but the hook was in🎣 Now thousands of dollars and seems like years later, I'm still deep into RC Cars, Trucks and Drones.

I’m not a big fan of massive wheelies either but after driving this little jem, I actually rather enjoyed messing around with it. I had more fun trying to stop it from wheeling with throttle control and getting it to top speed which isn’t very fast but after running it a few times I’m glad I didn’t mess with dialing the wheelies out. Such a great little machine

😆👍 I don't see a wild Willy ('s) in my future..... But I did learn some interesting things about the suspension arms that is going to be helpful for a ongoing scratch building project so I am always am glad I watch RCKicks. BOOM! LoL! I'll be buying the parts tree with the suspension arms. Your builds are really helpful without being a snooze fest. Can you make a chain from all those bushings and add a few of the ubiquitous wrenches for bling?

I love the wheelies for the change is skill it takes to keep them on their wheels. Brushless is addicting but damaging when rolling. Turn the wheelie bar upside down to keep it from standing up, but once you pop you can't stop.

Nice build so far. I think the metallic bearing bushes are bronze, not brass. Bronze is more commonly used as a bearing material. I personally find if you’re not running a high power motor and not gonna run it all the time the bushings are fine for a gearbox as long as they’re well greased, that being said I’ve only built a couple with the bushings because I get bearings off of Amazon in bulk

The large bumper is not intended as a choice. Of course you do have the choice to use the large one, but the real reason why there is both a small and a large bumper is because the chassis is used for more than one model and the plastic tree contains the parts for all models. The large bumper is intended for the yellow dump truck. I have both so I know 🙂. The small bumper would look silly on the mighty dump truck and the large bumper would look a bit out of place for the Willy. But yes, you do have the choice 🙂.
@ollyn2107
@ollyn2107 11 ай бұрын
I’m not so sure about that. When this car was released in 1999 it was a unique chassis, it came supplied with the large (which Tamiya called the ‘training’ bumper) and the small bumper. It was well over 10 years before Tamiya started releasing different bodied versions of the WR02. The dump truck you refer to which uses the GF01 variant of this chassis, wasn’t released until 16 years later.

It’s just a pin that has a E clip at each end. You just need to order the correct length for your car. I’ve replaced all mine on my Thunder Dragon. Something a bit like this wheelspinmodels.co.uk/i/8600/?gclid=Cj0KCQjwyLGjBhDKARIsAFRNgW_H2d8YuHjYfLzsA9wUSu8eQWPKoHe1Dgo1sJxnrD3YbLmumuMt_Y0aAtAlEALw_wcB

Very good video. Why are you so rushed? I'm curious how you will do the paint job. For me, it was the hardest of all Tamiyas RC´s. After I finished it, I was pretty proud but didn't want to let him bash anymore and made a shelf queen out of it.

Hi Gavin, you can buy LIPO batteries that fit Tamiya cars. I used to buy "Venom" batteries that fit Tamiya Cars. However, they are now out of business. I am sure you can find other LIPO battery companies that make batteries that fit Tamiya Cars. Thoughts?
@RCKickschannel
@RCKickschannel Жыл бұрын
Yep I have a bunch. The issue is the WW2 battery tray is super tight and most Tamiya lipo shape batteries are a fraction bigger. This normally isn't a problem but on the WW2, it is.

Hello, i have a question. I have just started building tamiya rc. I would like to know if you should lubricate the screws as well, or just the moving parts such as the gears. Thanks
@RCKickschannel
@RCKickschannel Жыл бұрын
Not really needed. If you have turnbuckles in your kit, its worth putting a bit of lubricant on them to make your life a little easier when putting them together. Thread lock is a good thing to have if you are fitting any bolts into metal parts as things rattle loose really easy on RC cars.
