RC Car Drag Racing and Crashing 132ft - These Cars are Fast

Damn these cars are getting faster and faster. Pretty much everyone is on 6s or 8s, I showed more of the cars in the video so people can see what's in them. We have a pretty good mix of cars: X0-1, Serpent, Slash 4x4, Mugen, Hobao, Traxxas Funnycar, and probably a few I left out.
We are having a big RC drag race at the Paul Walker memorial party at Houston Raceway Park on September 8, 2018.
We need more people to get together for races, for some reason there's not enough fast people in Texas.

RC MAN 23 hahaha I was thinking the same thing like yeah they might be 1/10th scale, but some of those cars like the one running 8s and had about 30 capacitors down the middle has probably $2500-$3000 in just the one car🤣🤣

These little cars aren’t too expensive. If you want to spend some money then get a Baja 5d buggy (1/5 scale) those get expensive.

High Tech Corvette A baja is $500. A 5b is $1000. When u get into upgrading it becomes expensive because the parts are huge. Those are serpents. They retail at $900 then add another $200 for the xl2 esc, then another 150 for the motor, then another 300+ in batteries, then $500 on the controller. then all the other little but expensive parts. This is wayyy more expensive then a baja

Just the motor and transmission case for my Baja cost about $1000, then upgrade the steering, exhaust($200 for a tuned pipe), slipper clutch, kill switch, RPM suspension, upgrade axles, aluminum shock towers, etc. I have seen people spend way over $5000 on a Baja.

I think the strip they chose is too bumpy for drag. Those bumps can unglue probably the stickiest drag tires from the road.

Cell count for Lithium batteries. 6s means 6 cells x 3.7v nominal per cell = 22V total voltage. 8s is 29.6V. Actual voltage when fully charged is about 4.2V per cell, so 25.2V and 33.6V respectively.

I wouldn't exactly say noobs lol those are some serious rigs, damn hard to put down the power that fast in 132ft. I have a 1/8 buggy build compared to these rigs it's a mild build and with semi conservative gearing it's a 80mph 6s setup and it's pretty wild trying to get it to throw down power as fast as I can. Gotta be smooth and quick reflexed and have your suspension and diffs tuned on kill for the specific road surface you're gonna run on.
