I worked for a lg corporation in the 80's and my dept was next to engineering. I had a large drafting table and was drawing up an r/c vehicle with a 2 spd trans and metal chassis, and drive train. I knew very little about engineering so I'd pop my head over the partition to ask the engineer sitting next to me. Next thing I knew I had 4 or 5 crammed in my cubicle going over my plans. "you gotta do this, gotta do that, gotta beef this up" etc. We finalized the drawings and I set to work trying to cast the parts. No joy. 6 months later the boss (who also joined in the fun) offered me a jr position in his dept. After I accepted he said: you know why I offered you the position? No why? That r/c project. It showed me you had the brain of an engineer. My job was designing store fixtures, displayers, sign holders etc for a large retail chain.

That is truly impressive. The torque that little motor has to pull about 15000lbs or about 6800kg for those over the pond with you Kev. Kev you sure could put some twin turbos to good use on the isle of man in your Huracan Perfomante. Just saying it would sound absolutely epic!!! 👊👊👍👍

Who would think this is fake? People are so annoying sometimes. I think they say it's fake just to troll. It's so obvious it was real. I pulled my Toyota Tundra with my SCX6. I added a bunch of brass and lead weight to the chassis and in the tires to keep traction. I am now in the process of converting my SCX6 Honcho into a 6X6 crawler. It will be able to pull even more. Kev, you should convert one of your Raminators into a 6x6? 😁

4:00 I wondered if you'd ever get around to doing a remote control lawnmower. If I were you I'd buy a self propelled, then kit it up with a receiver and brakes to steer it. Where I live guys put snowblowers on the front of r/c cars and clear their driveway.

Sway bars would help prevent one of your front tires from lifting as easily. Maybe you should fully convert an SCX-6 to a sit-on tow rig. Design it to support your weight and add a seat. :)

Assuming you have the necessary traction, at low speed and on a flat surface, all you need to overcome is the rolling resistance. If you can find a way to connect to a train, you will get much more impressive results because the rolling resistance of metal wheels on rails is much lower than tyres on the road surface. Additionally, if you simply let the air out of all the tyres on your Range Rover, you probably won't be able to move it due to the increased rolling resistance for the same mass.
