Tim, another outstanding video, and you knocked it out of the park! So the remote ID takes up one of the slots in the receiver. In your demonstration, you would not be able to add, say retractable gear, since the ID uses the last slot in the receiver. Do I understand it correctly? In another of your videos, you mentioned the RUKO ID which helps find your plane. Would you recommend that over the FliteTest remote ID if you wanted the RUKU location feature or can the Flite Test ID also find your plane? Please keep up the good work. You're one of the best YT channels for RC.

John: Thanks for your kind words! I am pretty sure that you can use a Y connector to power the EZ ID. You can also use a stand-along battery for the RID. But, the real answer is the www.Ruko.net R111 remote ID that I reviewed a few weeks ago. Half the price of the EZ ID and it has a self-contained rechargeable battery. Problem solved!

@@TimMcKay56 Yes, I saw your earlier video and it too was excellent. Credit to you for bringing something new and useful to the table. All the best Tim.

Well done. Do you have a video or good source to match up different batteries, ESCs, and motors?
@TimMcKay565 ай бұрын
There are so many combinations out there. For most of my models that I build, the Castle Talon 25 ESC works well with 2 and 3 cell batteries.

The BEC plug on an Apprentice 1.5 m with a "smart ESC" goes into slot 6 of the included receiver. A non-smart ESC, if you are using one, goes to slot 1. I just became aware of this while helping a new pilot set up his plane. A bit unusual, but that's the way it is.

Not sure.

They will never enforce remote id. The FAA doesnt have the man power. A hundred bucks saved, one silly regulation that is extreme and over reaching for a rc fixed wing plane thwarted. 🤷♂️ give them an inch of your freedom, and they will take miles from you. dont start now!

Remote ID is here to stay. This is step one, will evolve as technology advances. Think your old 8 track tape player to now streaming music from your smartphone via Bluetooth.

Remote ID not required when you fly in your club RC field if it is a registered FRIA. That would have been valuable info to bring up.

Exactly!!! Dumbest rule yet!! Do not comply!!

We havent needed ID for the last 50 years of flying....surely don't need them now. Just more intrusion of a tyrannical government. Our founding fathers are turning in their graves. All tyranny needs to gain a foothold is for people of good conscience to remain silent.” ― Thomas Jefferson DO NOT COMPLY

@@Jebusisblatantidolatry Remote ID is here to stay. Do keep in mind that the focus of RID are the drone pilots, as they are the ones flying in controlled airspace, etc. And . . . 100% of drones sold these days (i.e. after the Commerce Dept ruling in Dec 22, 2022) come with Standard Remote ID. This means the remote ID is fully built into the drone, there is nothing the drone pilot needs to purchase.
