Brought back some memories! This was my very first RC car when I was 7 years old except I had the blue one. My mate had a Taiyo mini hopper that was a fairly even match for racing.

That’s great! Glad I could bring back the memories. That was the intention when I decided to start putting vintage RC’s on the channel. We all love a good dose of nostalgia.

It's awesome to see these older cars still around, brings back memories. Some of the old radio shack and Nikko cars were actually very similar to, or even shared parts with some of the low end hobby grade cars of the time.
@ReadytoRunRC2 жыл бұрын
Yeah eBay is loaded with these vintage rc's. Just hard to find one's that work with original box and original instruction manual. The one's that do work perfect are so expensive.

I remember spending so much of my parents money on AA batteries. So much they got rechargeable ones for me for Christmas. Only problem it took several hours for them to charge. But it did cause me to save some of the AA battery money that I would earn. I bought a used hornet with battery , charger and radio. My first hobby grade r.c. . Thanks for the flashback .
@ReadytoRunRC2 жыл бұрын
These went through batteries so much. I didn’t play with mine much because my parents wouldn’t keep buying me batteries all the time. That Hornet was a great investment with the money saved on batteries. Thanks for checking out the video!

amazing shape for a 30 year old car! sadly my family was poor the few rc cars i remember having where tethered but i remember friends and cousins having the silver one you had last week.
@ReadytoRunRC2 жыл бұрын
Whoever had this car didn’t use it much. Couldn’t believe how nice it was when I pulled it out of the box. I’ve had a few tethered RC’s growing up. Cheap department store RC’s that I can’t even really remember exactly what they were. That’s awesome about the silver one I had and remembering it.

Why is it always about speed? Thats not the point of these!
@ReadytoRunRC Жыл бұрын
And speed is not the whole point of this video. I simply just put the gps on it out of curiosity to see what speed it does get to in high and low gear. This video was made more for the nostalgia factor than anything.
@dodgeramsport01 Жыл бұрын
@Ready To Run RC Yes to me, it's not about speed! It's about the fun and nostalgia! But all one ever hears is " how fast is it" lol crazy! Great video BTW!
@ReadytoRunRC Жыл бұрын
@@dodgeramsport01 yes most definitely. I love the fun factor too. Speed does help with that but speed isn’t everything. Look at crawling. That’s one of the slowest types of RC’s but yet to me it’s so much fun crawling around on rocks and whatever I can climb. Thanks for checking out the video.
