The tail rotor stopped suddenly but the blades are still attached, so it might just be a main blade striking the tail, something that often happens in sharp turns in scale helicopters. It's embarrassing for the flier, but it can be fixed mechanically in a couple of hours, but the GRP fuselage needs repairs and then lots of filling, sanding and painting to get back to its original shine. Sadly, this happens more in shows than elsewhere because of the extra stress of operation to a timetable and in unfamiliar surroundings, but most people who fly these things are relaxed about crashes and the repairs needed. I know I am!! If you don't fly you don't crash, but we like to fly.

From what I can see, the tail rotor screw got loose, causing the blade to tip and strike the Vertical stabilizer intern cutting of all circular motion and causing the heli to go into a tail spin...
@Yefatbastard10 жыл бұрын
Yes the problem started in the tail assembly.. It was NOT a main rotor, tail or boom strike.. The main rotors are still in good shape all the way to the ground.. I suggest watching it at .25 speed..

yeah, I did, when said the blade tipping, I meant the tail rotor tipping

Looks like the vertical fin either came loose or the stress of the turn caused it to lean into the tail rotor and... well, catastrophe. Too bad, that was a beautiful bird. I'm sure he'll get it repaired and up flying again.

Last month almost had a mishap. Just changed to a fresh battery for my Hughes 300C and was about to lift off when I heard a ZZZZ sound. Quickly drop the collective and shut down. Did a quick visual and didn't see anything out of place. Tried again same noise and decided to call it a day. When I got home took the canopy off to do a through inspection. What I found cause me to say "O Shit". I lost the tiny screw to my pinion gear to the motor shaft that caused to freely turn. That's the one thing I didn't lock tight. From then on any time I'll take one my helicopters out (have a small fortune tie up in scale birds), I'll double check everything.

@Beamshipcaptain9 жыл бұрын
Tail rotor itself came loose, a screw wasn't locktied or something, and the tail rotor assembly, pitch-change plate and all, came loose and whacked the vertical stabilizer fin. Might be able to autorotate, but he was too low for that setup.

the governor rotor and tail-up wing are broke and malfungtion thats why the helicopter lost its stabbilize and rotating then crash the ground. note: dont force your rc helicopter
@bitemykrank197010 жыл бұрын
What actually happened ? Was it component failure, structural failure or boom flutter ? All i can see is the tail rotor goes, and the rear of the boom is chopped, once there is no correction , the uncontrollable spin begins, luckily it didn't fall too far. I hope the damage was minimal, it's such a nice bird, and was being flown beautifully until it went pear-shaped. You have my sympathy. I might be able to work out what happened if i could read German.

@wouteranthierens10 жыл бұрын
I think the bearings of the tail-rotor got jammed. Probably the tail-rotor was driven by a belt. The belt ripped the end section of the tail, and resulted in a loss of tail rotor control. He had no time to cut off his engine for an auto rotation.
