Lol you got me . Hard not to Mr. Meyers when I hear you say it. Ears listen when experience speaks. Your boats are not the norm when it comes to nitro in most areas and Beautiful too. I hope you keep posting you wonderful videos for us to watch for a long time.

I never understood it. My glow planes run great. I get a glow boat set up, two days later, would not run to save my life. I have a hydro, glow powered. Has not seen water in over 20 years. I just might try putting it back together.

Weathervane rc - I've done a lot of racing in my life, from karting and drag racing to circle track and even full size hydroplanes, but the most difficult by far has been nitro RC hydroplanes. But that's the fun part... the incredible challenge! Go for it!

Any video of the 1/10th scales?
@M5PerfHydros3 жыл бұрын
Mmm, no. They're not very exciting to watch live, and probably even less on video, but just for you I'll video them next chance I get
Sorry about that! I ruffled a lot of feathers with that comment. I was just kidding!

Question. Why do all the R/C Hydros race clockwise(right turns) and the full size real deal Hydros race counter ( left turns)? I know the R/C's are set up to only turn right under speed, but why right and not left?
@M5PerfHydros6 жыл бұрын
OnParGuitar, that's a common question! Here's my reply copied from another who asked; * Good question! Big boats use engines with clockwise rotation crankshafts, which results in lifting forces on the right side of the boat. Nitro R/C engines rotate counterclockwise which imparts lift to the left side of the boat. So if big hydroplanes turn hard to the right they'll literally roll over, and if R/C hydros turned hard to the left they'll flop over too. The exception are the 1/6th scale boats whose gas engines rotate clockwise, and so these do go counterclockwise around the course!*

Why are the electric boats limited to a special list of lil motors and not raced with nitro if they are slower?
@M5PerfHydros6 жыл бұрын
Ha ha! Don't take it personally Moonie! Us nitro guys always give the electric guys crap and vice versa. We're all friends and there's plenty of room at the pond for everyone. But to your point, we did run the electrics and nitros together for the first two years as the electric boats were first getting started, and it was great fun. But now that the electrics have enough to run a separate class they've decided to do so. The speeds are very comparable, I just find the plug-and-play nature of electric to be boring. To each their own!

And what size brushless are they using in those?
@M5PerfHydros7 жыл бұрын
+Kyle Boyer - I don't know... I'm a nitro guy! Here's a local company owned by racers. Bill races both nitro and electric and can answer any of your questions; www.allrc1.com

Thank you. Nitro eh, I remember how I felt when the thunder began to leave the thunder boats, and every one went to turbine..... I think it may be the same with brushless.

Hi. Where can I buy be one of these hydroplanes?
@M5PerfHydros6 жыл бұрын
+Michael west - Most all of these boats are one of a kind hand built. There are a few ways to go... Wood or fiberglass construction, or some combination of the two. A lot more information can be found on our website at www.rcunlimiteds.com and some bare hulls can be purchased from www.rcboatcompany.com. Happy boating!

These RC boats are going clockwise. The real boats go counter clockwise. What up with that?
