one thing i don't understand. you disconnected the 2 red wires from the board as showen at 0:09 Minutes and solder them together. I tried the too, but with no result. I'm using a TS832 transmitter

I have a n a z a V2 and all I want to do is read battery voltage. Is there a firmware for the OSD that just simply bypasses everything and just shows voltage?

Good tip. I have problems with mine booting up on APM 2.7. If I press reset it works fine. I power up the plane first and have the OSD on a 3Amp UBEC as I heard that the servo on a plane can cause the OSD not to get enough power. Then I plug in the UBEC to power the OSD and I have a video but no OSD. If I press rest it works. I haven't done the power mod like yours as I did fry one OSD with poor soldering. So I'm bit reluctant to try that. I only have 3 wires to my OSD on the telemetry side the GND and +5V coming form the UBEC which is connected to the balance lead on the Lipo and the Rx from the APM. Any ideas ? Thanks

I have a s800 sky shadow FPV wing, It has some weird board but its not programmable. I was hoping I could just connect the minim OSD to the battery voltage and it would output only that. Is this possible ? Basically running it without a naze/APM etc. Ive been looking around and I've found nothing on this.

+Ed Jones you can configure a MinimOSD as 'standalone'. See the documentation for the firmware you're using. I've not done it here.. best of luck!

i get this though with a telemetry radio in the link.. so i have a 915mhz radio on i've wired it i et the heartbeats on the telemetry radio but i get 'waiting ofr mavlink heartbeats off the osd.. any ideas? I only have the 1 wire on as the apm sight states..

Trying to run both at the same time can cause huge problems as the outputs on the APM are not designed to power two signal lines at the same time. Best of luck!

Painless360 worked it out, the chinese place i got the cables from apparently can't wire or label things right ;) working a treat now, basically the old problem where the TX-RX was 'marked' wrong on the loom. Fixed and all working though so i'm happy makes checking things soo much easier and thanks by the way for the videos they have come in handy for fixing out all this stuff.

Hi, i have the "no heartbeats packets received" on mission planner when I try to connect my APM by telemetry. I also have the "no mavlinks heartbeats" error on osd. My APM is completely new and i don't know why this is happening, what should I do??

+Alberto Gaspar Martín you can't connect both the on-screen display and telemetry together at the same time on the flight controller.

Alberto Gaspar Martín I'd suggest you ask them how to do it then ;) the port was not designed to run two devices at once and often connecting two can pull the signal down to a level that can't be seen by one or both of the connected devices. Some get it working though.. Best of luck

Hi i bought a Tera® MinimOSD MAVLink OSD APM 2.6 APM 2.52 Flight Control Board. And just want to OSD the Battery values (Voltage and % ) over my video signal. As Flight controler i am useing a Hobbyking KK mini (for my 250 drone). I connected the 12v bat to the JP6 BAT and Gnd. also the 5v (UBEC) to the JP5 +5v and GND. and the video signal and gnd signal on the IP4JP3 side. I soldered the connection so it only runs on 5v (thanks to your videos). However i am getting the ne hearthbeat error. As u mentioned in the video i am guessing that i have the wrong FW so it waits for a signal which will not come because i have not telemetry signal... . Do u know what kind of firmeware i need to flash or setting i need to change? (no telemetry ...jet). Just want to readout the battery drain and % and see the flight time. Looking forward to a respons. Thanks anyway because u already helped me a lot!

The KK mini (as far as I know) will not send telemetry to the OSD. You suspect you need a standalone OSD if you're using a simple KK board. Best of luck.

mhh its rather pricy. i think ill swtich the flight controller. From the kk mini to Naze32 or CC3D. Which would you recommend? it is just a small 250 drone. As you may have guessed im am rather new. .)

We cover the flight controllers in a video. We compare and contrast them. I'd go for a controller that supports Beta/Cleanflight so it would be a Naze32 for me..

Hi! Have seen all your videos on the minimosd and naze32. I have a problem, I cant write settings to my osd. I can flash it with kv or mw, I can also upload fonts. But it will not write/save the settings I change :/ Have used EPROM clean.. have tried separate 5v powersource also. No luck :/ Got any tips?

I'd check that the line into the Rx pin on the MinimOSD is ok and that the firmware on the board and GUI you are using are the same. Best of luck!

Not really, the heartbeats it's talking about are the MAVLink protocol telemetry heartbeats. A GPS 'speaks' NMEA or UBLOX..
