There are so many great options for stabilizers right now. Matek controllers and Kopilot Lite are amazing for the money.

Is the Gyro used to detect objects ?
@RCVideoReviews Жыл бұрын
No, it has an accelerometer and depending on the mode being used, it reacts and manipulates outputs to the control surfaces.

Just look at it this way, if you weren't sure, someone else wasn't sure either. Let me know when you get your stabilizer and I'll help you make sure it's setup correctly.

John: You got a lot of great discussion and ideas from this video. Your discussion cleared the fog for me again. Questions: 1) What is the Detrum system using for operating system? Is it OpenTX? Is it 4 in 1 compatible, or strictly proprietary? 2) What stabilization system is the lightest for
@RCVideoReviews3 жыл бұрын
1) Detrum is proprietary. Their graphics and fonts look like pictures I've seen from Spektrum radios, but I have no idea if there is a relation. 2) Kopilot Lite www.banggood.com/custlink/3GKEFNKVZm That's an interesting video concept, but it would be a lot to chew. Here's what I would suggest: 1) Basic Small Beginner: Kopilot Lite 2) Fixed Wing: Matek F722-WPX or later with iNav. 3) Multrotor: Too many options to list: F7 board or later with Baro, GPS, Current Sensor, Bluetooth and Betaflight. That's my current strategy. You can find videos for most of this equipment on my channel already.

Can we use a stand alone stabilizer with a flysky fsi6 6ch transmitter and receiver?
@RCVideoReviews4 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. The only thing you need to do is ensure the output from the receiver is supported by the input of the stabilizer. i.e. If your receiver only outputs PWM, your stabilizer must support PWM input. If your receiver only outputs s.bus, your stabilizer must support s.bus input. To the best of my knowledge, all stabilizers provide PWM output to the servos and ESC if throttle is supported.

John, very informative. as always. I found this video and I am very nterested in using stabilization, flight control and telemetry, if possible using only one device. By the way, what is the sbus device that you have connected to your stabilizer? Is there any integrated rx similar to the Detrum that can be used with the TX16S? Regards
@RCVideoReviews4 жыл бұрын
The S6R is an integrated stabilizer and receiver. It does not have Return to Home or GPS flight modes. Just wind rejection and auto leveling. The Detrum SR86A/G is an integrated receiver/controller/gps/rth. I believe there are a couple of iNav based Flight Controllers like the Omnibus F4 Fireworks: www.getfpv.com/frsky-rxsr-fc-omnibus-f4-fireworks-v2-flight-controller-w-integrated-r-xsr.html That is a full on flight controller with integrated Rx.

@@RCVideoReviews John, I believe FrSky protocol is now "almost" out of the scope in the TX16S internal multiprotocol unit, isn't it?

@@enriquech4041 ACCESS is only compatible with FrSky ACCESS radios, not the MPM. S6Rs are still sold with ACCST firmware.

This was very useful. I've been looking at videos for info on gyros, stablizers, and combo receiver with stabilizers. I'm new to fixed wing and would like to have some assistance until I feel more comfortable flying. There are so many different ways to achieve this that it'd daunting to figure out what's a good way to start without having to spend a lot.

Hi John. If you update your link for the Blitz DT-9 and SR86A-G happy to click through. Hopefully they deliver to Australia. Quick question I am getting a FMS Super EZ PNP delivered which comes with reflex stabilization. I won't need that will I? I am happy with not using the reflex.. The combo will get me ready for flying without any more receivers etc.. correct ? Thanks John

I updated the links in the video, thanks for letting me know. If they don't support shipping from their website, send an email to info@bitgohobby.com and let them know what you need. I know they've helped others out with international shipping. Best of luck with it. Both the iStone and Z3 are solid stabilizers.

do you think that radiomaster t16s can connect to that detrum flight controller? Thanks
@RCVideoReviews2 жыл бұрын
Not direct to the FC, the FC requires a receiver (Rx) between it and the transmitter (Tx). I have used a TX16s and an SBUS receiver in front of the Deterum FC though, and it works fine.

what if I want to use a stabilizer to keep a turret facing the same way ?
@RCVideoReviews4 жыл бұрын
That one I don't know. If I were going to experiment with something like this, I would probably be thinking about an autopilot with return to home and I would initially want to connect the turret pan servo to the rudder output of the autopilot. But that's just spitballing.

Maybe a heading lock gyro from a heli tail rotor? Just a guess, but trail and experiment. There are also gyroscope available for drifting rc cars that keep the front wheels pointing were needed. Hope my ideas help point you in the direction you're wanting

So coming from the drone world.. is it possible to use a drone flight controller on an rc plane?
@RCVideoReviews4 жыл бұрын
A buddy of mine used an F4 drone controller for OSD and power on a min talon equipped with a Kopilot Lite for flight control. So I'd say yes if you know how to wire things correctly.

can I combine both stabilizer and flight controller?
@RCVideoReviews4 жыл бұрын
Not really--both devices will want to manipulate surface deflection, so you'd wind up with some conflict. I suppose you could wire them in series and make it work, but it would probably be smarter to decide what you want to do then decide if you can do it with a stabilizer or if a full flight computer is required. I have heard of hybrid setups using a stab and flight computer together, but not for control purposes.

I would like to watch a very simple "how-to" video that shows how to connect my Hitec Optima 2.5GHz receivers to a basic stabilizing device and transmitter channel on/off switch assignment, that would help me fly my medium sized electric powered scale models enjoyably in typical windy conditions, without much risk of takeoff and landing damage. I dislike a 45 minute drive to the field only to have unpredictable wind come up force me pack up and leave.
