another thing to point out in its favour is the fact you can set the min-input voltage. This is especially useful if you're charging in the field off another larger lipo as you can make sure you don't over discharge and puff the supplying pack; especially if you're using an expensive pack to run it like a big 6S as i do!

I bought the SC-620 a few months ago and find it great - punches above its weight for something that fits into my field kit so easily. :)

My understanding is that you may unplug the battery once what they call 'fast charge' finishes and you get the first beep. If you leave it connected it will simply start balancing. Seems like the best of both worlds to me.

It does work like that but I'm a fan of setting to charger to how I want it and leaving it to it, not waiting for beeps and un-plugging/stopping it mid 'charge'. For me, I prefer the way that the Q200, IMAX, Bantam and other chargers do it where you tell it the charge type you want at the start. Horses for courses :D

When charging you can also scroll down and see other specs while charging. Like the battery resistance.

I was very surprised at the price. $82 Canadian! But then I noticed that it is a 300 watt charger.. That surprised me even more. I don't recall hearing the power mentioned in the video. If it was, it wasn't emphasized enough. But for the uses you mentioned I would have gone for the 608 which is more sensible 150 watts and a good bit less expensive. It's not much bigger either. And for just over $20 more they have one that is 500 watts! That would be good to charge even very LARGE batteries.

Hi PainlessGood vid, many thanks.Just one question. At the end of the vid, under 'Things to think about' you mention voltage measurement out a little after balancing.However in your verbal summing up you say cell voltages are pretty much spot on.Which is right?ThanksJeff

Great Video As Always, I really enjoy watching your videos, I learn a lot too, I've got a quick question please what is the best '' big pack battery '' I can get here in UK please I have an ISDT D2 charger at the moment and I want to get a portable charger ( probably Q6 or Q6 plus ) for the time I don't have access to power supply , but don't know anything about the big pack batteries for input , thanks a lot

I use a huge Li-Ion pack I got from 3DXR back when they used to make and sell great Li-Ion packs.. Not sure where to get a big pack now - apart from HobbyKing..

thanks a lot, you are always kind and helpful, no doubt , the best in the field with no hesitation, priceless reputation, I'm not sure if there is a God at all , But thank God for you, and thank you

Nice update :-) Yes the online manual is quite good. To verify that I understood the balancing behavior of this (or more specifically my isdt-620) I performed a little test. Test: charge a previously balanced and known good 1000mah with 120mah on cell1 and cell2 leaving cell3 low. Charge on the isdt and observe how/when the difference disappears. My thoughts going into this (based on the fact that my isdt always keeps cells at +/- 10mV while charging and my electronics background) was that of course the charger used the controllable resistors to bypass the main charging current when needed at any time during charging (up to its rated max of 1.5A bypass on mine if I remember correctly). That would result in cell3 being charged at full speed with 1 and 2 "waiting". So what happened. Well not quite the rapid catch up I anticipated... The charger quickly got the distance down to 20mV but kept it there for most of the charge only evening it out towards the end (but way before the CV phase). Not quite sure what the exact algorithm used is but more testing would be useful. is there a way we can charge it using one of the Lap Top Chargers? How can we use the source power other than a Lipo
@Painless3604 жыл бұрын
Maybe, if the voltage is correct and it has enough current. You'll need to make an XT60 adapter for it. Best of luck!
@gamerpaddy7 жыл бұрын
"Charge type selected by what you plug in" isnt that a good thing? you can change it afterwards, with some restrictions. if you got 4S lipo connected you cant select 7S Pb, except when disconnecting the balance lead. also you forgot about the Cell IR measurement which is available when charging a battery with balance lead connected. mine comes pretty close to the traditional measuring method.
@Painless3607 жыл бұрын
+gamerpaddy I like to be able to select the charge type I want ( as mentioned in the video). This kind of works like that but I'd prefer to select it from the menu. Happy flying!

I cant believe ISDT is stupid and did not put logging features into their charger. They must be real idiots, since every competitor has it, iMax B6, Reaktor, Antimatter, iCharger. Can you recommend alternative to ISDT charger but with logging (not the ones mentioned above)?

Can I use a laptop charger to power it?
@Painless3607 жыл бұрын
+Márcio Schittler Possibly. I'd check the output voltage and amperage are ok. I'd be very careful and check the connections and polarity a few times before plugging anything in..

Dont understand why you promote so many Banggood products? Is the customer/reliability better in the UK because here in the US they are truly awful.
@Painless3607 жыл бұрын
+John Ellenberger we order lots from them, we've had dozens of frsky receivers, motors and ESC sets along with other things too. Shipping normally takes a little longer than I like, but the price is a good enough to let me keep the spares bin nicely stocked up. Sorry to hear you're having problems in the US. So far so good here..

In Boston area one month or more for regular shipping. That means you haven't experienced their "service" department. 4-5 days turn around per email. Demands to provide video of your shipping label (5 days after arrival). They shipped me a low-end VR headset instead of the one I ordered and only offered to refund the difference. Stuck with a crappy headset and nothing close to the replacement cost. Trolling the forums I am not alone.
