The engine experiences a momentary open circuit as the current rails at the junction point do neither bridge nor go all the way through. But it's the engine's traction motor that provides enough rotational momentun in order to keep the train moving to reach the electric rails again.

Combining 9V and 12V is the hardest one. I just cut the two studs out completely on the 9V curves. Haven't tried the 9V switches yet though.

I wanted to do this for a while and now I can see what the results look like amazing work.

That gotta be the smartest invention since sliced bread!👍 I always strive to avoid modding my bricks but with a limited supply of 12v tracks your trick is justifiable. Plus it solves the issue with 12v sleeper clips snapping off

Thank you, I'm happy that you liked it. Ifound this to be the least intrusive modding. I hope to continue the project when I'm home from my work travels.

Would this work with 9v and a lot of copper tape?
@pastajensen8 ай бұрын
Hello, thanks for your comment! Yes, I use copper tape on my main railway setup e.g. I have mix of both LEGO and FX 9v tracks and RC tracks modified with copper tape. I would recommend to use one that also conduct on the adhesive side as it makes it much easier to keep the continuity. My next step will be try out both systems together.
