I will be adding items to my store all the time and all proceeds go right back into the channel! After dropping top dollar for some RC4wd King shocks, I discover an issue with the D110 kit, Its just too heavy.

I bought a set of 4 king shocks, exactly what you have. I wanted to put them on my tf2 but I need to make some spacers and get a lift kit of some sort so the shocks will fit. I've had them for about a year now and have to look at then every time I go to my shop. Thinking about trying them on my trx4.

I had king shocks. Take apart the very bottom the shock. Where the shock shaft comes out of the shock body. You need to double oring that area. They hold oil just fine after that

My King's work great on my D110, have them on my TF2 ,and scx10's aswell. I have the spring kit, I use 80wt oil with associated orings Part Number: ASC5407 green slime, shocks are allways dry

Oil far to thin so tried 1000 cst & need a softer top spring & stiffer bottom spring I found to get them right depending on rig obviously

unfortunatley glad to see someone else has issues with this truck, my girlfriend has it, and again rc4wd makes cool rc stuff, but i feel its all riddled with un time tested faults. hers is listing heavily to the left and ass heavy as well. we tried taking some stuff offf of it, but it shouldnt be that way. either they need to take more time testing stuff before it goes out for sale. rc4wd is really an awesome realistic company, but axial kicks there ass in better quality of overall function. can i ask what axial shocks you used because i think itll be better than what garbage is in there now.

+Nick Rees Im just running the stock plastic scx10 shocks. Really most all of your issues can be fixed by tuning the suspension. Mine handles very realistically with the axial shocks and dual rate spring setup.

I have 80mm old man emu shocks on my gelande d110. Tried 100wt oil. Still way too soft! Finally tried Lucas engine oil additive. Thick as honey! Still too soft😑I've run out of ideas. Any advice? Thanks.😊

Have to start trying heavier springs. On a lot of my rigs I ended up with stock axial scx10 shocks because they just work.
@vinceguerra1310

@@RCeveryday but my rig is 13.5lbs. Tried harder springs and it just bounces. I'm looking for a nice controlled action. Ride height and articulation are fine. Just seems to have no damping.

@@vinceguerra1310 I have the same thing. Old man emu 80mm. Heavy sprung. The body and roof rack and ladders/ tire it's now way to heavy for the shock. I may try Traxxas. Not sure.

Can you can use Associated o-rings 5407 and get a spring pack, how much dose your truck weight?
@RCeveryday
@RCeveryday 8 жыл бұрын
Im sure different springs would make it work but I swapped it back to the standard scx10 axial shocks and it works perfectly. I dont know for sure how much it weighs but Id guess around 8 or 9 pounds.

Are you willing to try stock TRX4 shocks? I've got three TRX4's and as far as scale looking rebound and dampening they're really decent.

I just got a TRx4 recently and I agree. I sold this D110 back some time ago, it just never performed the way i wanted it to.

How do you like those king shocks? Looks good on your video Whats your opinion on them?
@RCeveryday
@RCeveryday 9 жыл бұрын
michael dev they look nice and have held oil but they didnt work on the D110. No matter how much I adjusted them they still didnt handle the weight of that body and interior very well. I switched it back to the axial shocks. May put the kings on the cruiser eventually.

Josh Dutton just swap the springs with something a little stiffer, the spring holds the weight of the truck not the damper, try the axial spring on there instead
@RCeveryday
@RCeveryday 9 жыл бұрын
+CandSEvo7 The problem I was having was the king shocks are smaller diameter than everything I have. The springs from the axial shocks are too big
@CandSEvo7
@CandSEvo7 9 жыл бұрын
Josh Dutton ahh that makes sense then, you seemed very knowlageable so was kind of suprised you hadnt tried that, the defender looks quite a bit heavier than the std scx10 bodies, here in the UK we can get optional king springs which come in different strengths, im sure they must be available in the US too- www.ebay.co.uk/itm/100mm-King-Off-Road-Scale-Shock-Spring-Assortment-Rates-Shocks-Tuner-Z-S1117-/111733341063?hash=item1a03d37b87.

Thanks for quick reply. Another question what would you recommend for a good strong steering servo? Sorry Im very new to this rock crawling hobby and I know the d110 get pretty heavy and probably need a good torquey servo.
@RCeveryday
@RCeveryday 7 жыл бұрын
There are some greta servos for around $50 to $60 I have savox on most of mine but I havent tried many other brands. i went to my local hobby store and looked at everything they had and found a good middle of the road type servo. I cant remember the model #. I used one in my TFL bronco build recently.

Kngs are shit! But there is a video on KZbin on how to make them work. I tried it and it did make them better. It uses thicker diff fluid. Proline ultimate scaler shocks, look just like Kings, are my favorites ATM.
