I think what we came to find out is how to trigger record with our instrument, like you are starting with guitar not drums and we want the guitar sound to trigger the record start.
@GaryLucasMusic3 жыл бұрын
Yes exactly. Did you ever find an answer to this?
@OGBlackBridge3 жыл бұрын
No. This is not the context in which auto record is used. To kick off recording on any track the looper must be triggered by button or pedal.
@wildeyestudios5 Жыл бұрын
I have an issue where the auto record starts before I hit the instrument, it seems to be when other tracks are playing but im using headpho5and the mic shouldn't pick itnup. I don't know if I am Missing something
@SelfPropelledDestiny2 жыл бұрын
Great idea! And making a quick blank is nice for one the fly stuff. Though if you knew pre-handedly which tracks you were going to dedicate to audio, you could just save (WRITE) the song bank with those blanks already there for you too. Just another idea for others who hadn't thought of it.
@jays42104 жыл бұрын
Cool, but that isn't auto recording based on your signal. Nothing in the device is being 'triggered' by the signal of your guitar, it's just constantly on a record loop.
@dopesoup4203 жыл бұрын
Exactly! False advertising.
@joemonroe11063 жыл бұрын
Yep.
@OGBlackBridge3 жыл бұрын
It only "holds" a loop by a strong input from your voice or instrument and will record loops on one track automatically, over and over, until you stop that track from recording. It's only taking loops from a solid input and not looping white noise over and over, hence making auto record a true feature if comprehended in the correct context.
@AlistairPope3 жыл бұрын
That’s cool, but but the quick and easy way of recording a hands-free loop on the RC-505 is to plug the FS-6 or FS-5U foot switch into it.

I use a simple cheap sustain pedal that came with a Yamaha keyboard
@SelfPropelledDestiny2 жыл бұрын
@@strandedaliensband That's great! I have a Casio digital piano, but the polarity is reversed, so it only triggers once released. If I tap really fast, it could work but not ideal. I'll have to see about a Yamaha one.

Blank loop works by holding loop Stop and tapping loop Start. Takes half a second. Set the measures beforehand.

@girlinagale5 жыл бұрын
@@lurkerlew2136 You seemed hesitant, I needed to clarify how quick it is.
@lurkerlew21365 жыл бұрын
@@girlinagale I hadn't actually done it in a while, so fair enough. The main point of the video was to illustrate that once you get a blank loop you can trigger a new recording purely with audio input, though.
@joemonroe11063 жыл бұрын
The guitar doesn't actually "trigger" anything here. He has already triggered the overdub by hand before he picked up the guitar. The looper is recording overdubs of silence from the moment he tapped to overdub mode (yellow light). There is no sound to record until you actually play something. No "trigger" ever happens from the instrument. As long as that track button is yellow...the looper is recording. Either silence or sound.

@SgtJesseDowning4 жыл бұрын
Very helpful. Thank you.
@OGBlackBridge3 жыл бұрын
Technically it only loops a deliberate sound, and although it does continue to loop over and over while "waiting" for an input signal, it only loops a specific and deliberate sound. Although recording isn't triggered and kicked on by a signal, it does continue to "listen" for another loop and automatically add more loops to the same track as long as you keep it in record mode.

Foot switches can also tackle the 'holding the guitar' problem.
@djsirprice79593 жыл бұрын
You dont need all that. 1. Just click [REC] in overdub mode and u acheive the first thing. U dont need to record a blank first. 2. Just set the length in the Edit mode. I have never heard anyone click Stop & Play at the same time. Are u sure it has any meaning at all?
@lurkerlew21363 жыл бұрын
If you hold stop and play at the same time it will create a blank loop with of the measure length that you set. It's in the manual, I believe.
@djsirprice79593 жыл бұрын
@@lurkerlew2136 ok, I have never heard of that. But if you set the lenght beforehand and then just hit REC I beleave u get the same result.

How are you getting the red dots that circle around the stop/play button to show you the amount of measures for each track? Mine just keeps going by 1 or 2 measures for all of them, even if I record a track that is 4 measures, it's still only red circling for two, instead of the 4 that I want it too? Do I have to set the measures first or what else do I have to do? I can't figure it out for some reason, and I tried everything?

What happens if you just qant to play the guitar 1st How does it record and then stop AUTOMATICALLY
@OGBlackBridge3 жыл бұрын
This is not the context in which "auto" is used for this looper. You must hit a button or pedal to begin recording but can loop over and over on one track continuously, without hitting any more buttons, as long as you're putting strong inputs onto that track. If it doesn't get a strong signal, it bypasses that measure and stays in record mode until you physically take that channel out of record mode. It is automatic, but not in the way many seem to believe it to be when clicking on this video.
@TheHumanSoundSystem5 жыл бұрын
nothing new about this trick but yes it is the way to loop the guitar with the hands free however no good on a noisy stage, back ground noise will build and build. in that situation hitting record on the 2 or 3 of the last bar will give you two beats before recording starts.

why dont you use position and status for the leds. your video is confusing for begginers because when you punch in the blank loop the lights dont come on due to your settings. personally i use position and status and have no idea why anyone would use any other.
