Part 11. Demolition of the RCA Building in the Rosslyn area of Arlington, Virginia. It was built in 1969. It is being replaced by a 27-story apartment building.

I had a building overhang I could stand under for this one, so I didn't have to hold an umbrella and film at the same time.

I noticed every time I watch one of these videos I hear a car horn beep. someone watching them work and not going plus I see just about every video has a plane flying truth it.

The flight path for DCA follows the Potomac River, and the RCA Building was just a few blocks from the Potomac.

Do he have some sort of camera on the top? Otherwise it's often blind working.

It’s an understatement to say that the machine operator is a “LOOSE CANNON” with the way he lets excessively large concrete column sections & slabs carelessly teeter on the edge of a level & then fall to wherever it is that they land. It’s a “GOD DAMNED GOOD THING THEY’VE GOT A SAFETY ZONE SET UP AROUND THE BLDG. TO PROTECT THE GENERAL PUBLIC & PASSING VEHICLES IN THE AREA. DANGER BEWARE: ASSHOLE AT WORK.” He’s also reaching into the building to grab debris & some of it is falling out of the opposite side & landing just anywhere on that side of the building. He’s a walking OSHA violation & doesn’t seem to have a care in the world about the “SLOPPY ASS” way he does his careless work. I definitely hope no one was injured & that no passing vehicles were damaged during demolition of this building.

How long does it take it to tear that building down

Over 3 months with the excavators, not counting the interior demolition and the foundation.
